Senior Hurling Captain and Vice Captain Announced

Senior Hurling Manager Joe Delaney and his Selectors Daniel Lane and William O' Leary have announced that Brian Murphy will once again Captain the Bride Rovers Senior Hurling team for the coming year with Daniel Dooley appointed as Vice Captain.

Brian returns once again as Captain after leading the team in 2015. Aged 33 he is one of the greatest players to have worn the famous Green, white and Gold. He has been a member of the Cork Senior Hurling panel from 2003 up to his inter county retirement last month. The holder of two All Ireland Senior Hurling Medals in 2004 & '05, he made his debut for Bride Rovers in 1999 and has been a mainstay in our team ever since. Captaining the side during our run to the 2008 County Final, Brian has won Young Hurler of the Year in 2004 and an All Star in 2006.

Daniel Dooley even at the young age of 25 is one of the more experienced players in the team having made his Senior debut in 2008. He has progressed to be one of our star forwards in recent years and his ability to produce and create scores in big games has seen him become a leader to all on the team. Daniel is also not afraid to lend his advise to the younger club players having been a Selector on our successful County Minor Hurling team of 2013.

All at the club would like to wish Brian and Daniel all the very best for 2016.
