U14s Reach P2 County Hurling Final

Blarney 5-7 Bride Rovers 2-4

Report by Stephen Barry (Irish Examiner)

Shane Barrett and Padraig Power contributed 2-2 apiece to ensure that Blarney emerged comfortable winners of the Premier 2 U14 Hurling final.

Bride Rovers Brian Roche opened the scoring by cracking in a goal, but Blarney captain Declan Hannon did well to marshal the defence thereafter.

Blarneys pacey full forward line were causing problems from all angles, with Barrett levelling the scores before Powers goal-brace put Blarney 3-4 to 1-2 ahead at the break.

Ben Hogan produced some flying saves, but he was beaten by Barrett and Cian Dunlea after the restart, although Cian Ahern and James Doody red cards meant the winners finished with 13 men.
