U16 Camogie..
Bride Rovers 1-9 Mallow 2-3
Congratulations to the Under 16 camogie team who beat Mallow in a tense game at Ballinlough on Saturday, earning a place in the ‘C’ County Final next weekend. It was a closely fought game and the teams traded scores in the first half going in at half-time one goal and two points apiece, the goal coming from Sarah in a well-taken penalty. Thanks to some nice scores by Emma Barry from frees and 65s, Bride Rovers countered a Mallow goal and the teams stood level again fifteen minutes into the second half. Excellent defending by the Rovers, particularly from Rachel in goal and Emily at full back, was instrumental to the team’s success. Also, two timely points from Katie, good fielding from Aislinn, and hard work from each and every player up and down the pitch competing for every ball and putting Mallow under pressure at every turn earned the Rovers a well-deserved place in the final next Saturday. Come along and support the girls at Castle Road, throw in at 11.30.
