No Joy in Munster Championship for Senior Ladies...
Following on from their great win in the Senior B County, the Rovers played Comeragh Rangers (Waterford) in the semi-final of the Munster Plate Championship on Sunday last in Ballyporeen.
On this occassion victory was not to be. Comeragh Rangers proved to be formidable opponents moving the ball quickly throughout the field. Comeragh struck first with 2 points before Grace Culloty had the Rovers first point from a free. Midway through the first half disaster struck when Comeragh bagged 3 goals in the space of 3 minutes to open up a 10 point lead.
Into the second half the Rovers upped there performance and scored a few points to reduce the deficit. But 2 counter attacks from Comeragh yielded two goals which put the game out of reach. But the Rovers battled away and were rewarded with a goal from Grace Culloty.
