Under 21's Lose Semi Final.

Our hopes of reaching the East Cork under 21 Hurling Final were dashed at Lisgoold last Sunday by Watergrasshill.  Goals win games and we conceded two in the first twenty minutes. We never recovered from those hammer blows and though William Finnegan's point scoring kept us in touch the closest we got was five points.  The game has barely started when we were down a goal. The second one came in the eighteenth minute and by half time we were 2 9 to 0  6 in arrears. We outscored the Hill by six points to four in the second half but they had a comfortable lead and ran out winners by a margin of seven points. As in the two previous games we could never get a big spread of scores - William Finnegan scored over thirty points in our three games.

Team & scorers V Watergrasshill: Frank Hogan, Podge Noonan, Ryan Prendergast, Tadhg O Sullivan, Adrian Buckley, Shane Walsh, Jakub Macak, Shane O Connor, Cian O Connor ( 0 1), William Finnegan(0 9), DJ Cahill (0 1), Sean Cotter, Jesse O Keeffe, Liam O Leary, Colm Power (0 1).Sub: Cian Howard.

After good wins over St. Catherines and Russell Rovers this defeat was a huge setback as a place in the East Cork Final against neighbours Castlelyons was a great incentive but it was not to be. However with eleven of last Sunday's starting team - and twenty of the panel, underage for next year we must put a mighty effort into this team in term of resources and games and preparation.
