Junior Football..
Bride Rovers 7-19 Mitchelstown 1-8
In what can be only described as an awesome display of football, our junior footballers ran out easy winners in our latest county championship game against Mitchelstown. We got off to a tremendous start with early goals from Elaine Culloty and Meg Kelleher, and our defenders were also well on top in every area. Three more goals and points from all 6 forwards left us 5-11 to 1-3 in the lead at half time. We continued in the same stream in the second half with Grainne Noonan adding two more goals, and Colette, Michelle and Catherine to the fore in adding more points to our tally, leaving an impressive final scoreline of 7-19 to 1-8.
Every one of the players involved in the game played superbly, and the support play, passing, defending and attacking was absolutely top drawer. If we continue to play this type of football, we’ll be a match for any team. Up next we are away to Carrigtwohill in the county championship with a date for the game to be finalised in the next few days.

U13 Camogie:
The under 13s played at home to Fr. O’Neill’s on Tuesday evening. From the outset, it was going to be a very one-sided match as the visitors were far and away the better team. And so it proved, but in fairness to Bride Rovers they battled as best they could for the duration of the game. It’s a pity for the girls that they are pitted against teams that are clearly so much stronger, and indeed neither side benefits from such games. In any event, well done to the girls who did their best.
Team: Abby Keating, Alanna Broderick, Niamh O’Sullivan, Caoimhe Hazelwood, Caoimhe O’Sullivan, Ella Quinlan, Rebecca Walsh, Amy Kennedy, Alice Murray, Shauna Hayes, Ciara O’Flynn, Chloe Murphy
U15 Camogie:
The under 15s travelled to Buck Leary’s Cross on Wednesday to play Sarfields. While Bride Rovers held their own in the first half and the score stood at 1-3 apiece, Sars pulled away in the second half to win by a substantial margin. Bride Rovers never gave up but the opposition were far too strong and the girls were unable to bridge the gap.
Team: Rachel O’Flynn, Arianne O’Flynn, Anna Murray (0-1), Katie Quirke (0-1), Rebecca Walsh, Ella Quinlan (1-0), Caoimhe Hazelwood, Chloe Murphy, Shauna Hayes (0-1), Emma Barry (0-1), Siobhain O’Sullivan (1-0), Aislinn O’Connor, Emily Larkin
