U12 Camogie..
On Wednesday, the u12s travelled to Dungourney with just ten players. The game proceeded with ten aside but the home team were far too strong for us on the day. That said, Bride Rovers battled hard and never gave up and Shauna scored a goal and two points in the first half which kept us in the game. Shauna was injured early in the second half and had to come off, and the match continued with nine aside. Caoimhe Hazelwood scored a point and the team worked well together and held Dungourney to two goals in the second half. However, the home side were the deserved winners by a good margin at the full-time whistle.
Team: Caoimhe Hazelwood (0-1), Rebecca Walsh, Caoimhe O’Sullivan, Chloe Murphy, Abby Keating, Shauna Hayes (1-2), Ciara O’Flynn, Alice Murray, Naoise McCarthy, Ella Quinlan
U16 Camogie:
On Friday evening, the u16 camogie team travelled to Millstreet. Lining out with twelve aside, Bride Rovers started with the wind and took an early lead with a goal each from Aislinn and Grace and two goals and a point from Caoimhe. Millstreet scored two goals in quick succession but Bride Rovers were the better team in the first half and led at half time by 4-6 to 3-1. However, the home team came out much stronger in the second half and playing with the wind, they gradually eroded our lead and with a minute to go, they were two points up. Caoimhe Hazelwood took a pass from Aislinn and hit the net to give Bride Rovers the victory by the narrowest of margins, 7-7 to 7-6.
Team: Rachel O’Flynn, Michelle Madden, Emily Larkin, Sarah Geaney, Grace Culloty (1-3), Emma Barry, Fiona Barry, Emma Hazelwood, Aislinn O’Connor (2-1), Arianne O’Flynn (1-1), Anna Murray, Caoimhe Hazelwood (3-2)
