Seniors go down by one Point ..
RED FM Senior Hurling League.
Midleton 1-15. Bride Rovers 1-14.
After a roller coaster 60+ minutes Midleton got the better of our lads in an exciting RED FM Senior hurling game played in Midleton on Friday last. A team which included both youth and experience put in a huge effort over both halves and were nearly rewarded for their endeavour. Cian O Connor was a colossus throughout and was ably assisted by Ryan,Donncha and Fergus. An unfortunate injury suffered by Shane kearney in the first half allowed William an opportunity to come in and show his mettle which he did. The ref blew the whistle to a frenetic first half with both sides evenly matched on a scoreline of 1-6 to 0-9. We opened the second half strongly and had a few scores on the board early. A few questionable decisions by the referee allowed Midleton the opportunity to move ahead but in true rovers style we battled to the bitter end but came up short at the end of an exciting game. Along with those already mentioned, others to do themselves proud were Mike Kearney, Michael Collins,Steven Glasgow,Jason Mannix and the always impressive Daniel Dooley. We have another league game this Tuesday 2nd June @ 7pm in Pairc na Bríde v Carrigtwohill
