U14 Camogie..
Our Under14 girls travelled to Killeagh on Tuesday the 26th to play the home side in camogie. Killeagh were stronger in the first half scoring 3-2 to our 1-1. Both of these scores came from an outstanding Sarah Murphy. All over the field we fought for every ball and this paid off in the second half as Sarah Murphy continued her scoring run with an additional 2-1 and Ella got on the ball to score a goal also. The game ended on a score line of Killeagh 5-4 Bride Rovers 4-2. A great performance by all on the team a special thanks to our newest member Naoise McCarthy.
U10 Football:
Our Under 10s’ winning streak came to a dismal end on Wednesday when we lost very badly at home to Inch. We only managed a couple of scores to their impressive tally but to be fair to our girls, the visitors were much taller and had enough players to field two teams. They played excellent football and Bride Rovers were no match for them at all, although they kept trying until the bitter end. We’d like to wish a speedy recovery to Ava Kiely and Ruby Broderick who have been badly missed from the panel in our recent games. Get well soon, girls!

U12 Football:
On Saturday we played at home to Youghal. This was always going to be a difficult game for us and so it proved on the day. They were by far the stronger team and whilst we held our own for the first twenty minutes or so, they gradully pulled away from us to win by a substantial margin. Again, we were caught for size and numbers, and we were missing some key players on the day. Nonetheless, Bride Rovers never gave up trying and while we failed to notch up the scores, we did battle our best at every position.

Help Sinéad Shine:
Every club, group and organisation in the parish has come together to spearhead a fundraising drive to ‘Help Sinéad Shine’. Sinéad Kearney is a local girl who is suffering an extremely debilitating illness as a result of having contracted Lyme’s disease four years ago. A Bride Rovers player, she was an extremely talented and promising competitor until forced to give up Gaelic games and other sports as a result of her illness. Over the coming two months, and in conjunction with other groups in the parish, Bride Rovers Ladies GAA Club will be helping to raise money for specialist treatment in America for Sinéad, which we hope will get her life back to normal and aid her return to sport. We would welcome all and any support for this most worthy cause. Donations can be made to The Sinead Kearney Lyme Treatment Fund BOI, Fermoy: IBAN IE 14BOFI 90286493983594.
