Junior Hurling Championship..

Our next big Championship outing is the first round of the East Cork Junior Hurling in mid June. Our opponents in this game are St. Catherines who are in many peoples view favourites to win the title in Imokilly having come down from the Intermediate Grade. In our first round game in the Senior Championship we used twenty players so that has depleted our Junior ranks somewhat. For the last few years our Junior Hurling team took part in the Avondhu/Imokilly Hurling league but this has been discontinued this season so we are back in the East Cork League. We are competing in Division 2 with two wins so far. The championship tie against St. Catherines is down for decision on the week ending June 21st, no venue has been confirmed yet.

Senior Hurling.

We are down to play Midleton in the REDFM County SHL on this Friday night in Midleton at 7.30pm. Our next game in the championship will be at least six weeks away. The Pairings in Round 2 of the SHC are Bishopstown v Sarsfields, Blackrock v St. Finbarrs, Glen Rovers v Carrigtwohill and the East Cork 'Local Derby' game Youghal v Killeagh -a game that is fixed for Ballynoe. Those four pairings have to play off with the four winners back in the championship. The four losing teams play off with the two winners back in the championship proper and the two losing teams here in the dreaded relegation Final. Depending on what team we draw and Corks progress at Inter County Level it could be late July before our next championship game at senior level. It gives us ample time to play our remaining SHL games.
