Minor Ladies Football...

Details of the draw on Tuesday night were not to hand at time of writing. We are in the B grade this year and the first round will be played on Sunday 12th October.

U14 Ladies Football
Tuesday, September 30th, Rathcormac
East Cork Championship Semi-Final
Bride Rovers 4-7               Fermoy 5-10

Our U14 season ended last Tuesday at Pairc na Bride at the hands of Fermoy. Our girls definitely did their best on the night and we led for most of this semi-final but Fermoy finished the stronger and qualified for the final. This was a tie we thought we could win so the result was disappointing.

Match panel : Sarah Murphy, Chloe Murphy, Emily Larkin, Sarah Geaney, Cliona Kearney, Emma Barry, Fiona Barry, Andrea Quinn (1-0), Katie Quirke (4-5), Aislinn O’Connor, Arianne O Flynn, Lucy Hicks, Aoife Cowman, Siobhan O Sullivan (0-1), Rachel O Flynn (0-1), Ella Quinlan, Sorcha Tobin, Caoimhe Hazelwood, Shauna Hayes, Ciara O Flynn, Bronagh Cleary, Rebecca Walsh, Anna Murray.

Minor Camogie
Saturday, October 4th, Newcestown
Newcestown 1-9              Bride Rovers 1-1

Our second round-robin game in the minor camogie championship ended in defeat away to Newcestown on Saturday. We are still poised to qualify though if we can win our last game against Banteer, scheduled for Saturday,October 11th at Rathcormac.

U16 Camogie
Sunday, October 5th, Pynes
Bride Rovers 6-4               Tracton 3-5

We overturned a fancied Tracton side in the U16B championship on a dreadful evening in Pynes last Sunday. To be fair, the visitors were inconvenienced by an early sending off but still led 3-4 to 3-0 at half-time. Our girls enjoyed much the better of exchanges in the second half, limiting Tracton to one point and ran out comfortable winners in the end to continue an excellent run in this year’s championship so far.

Many thanks to everyone who supported the ‘Night at the Dogs’ on Friday, October 3rd.

The next ‘First Friday’ clothes collection will be on Friday, November 7th, back to the normal time of 7pm to 7:30pm at Rathcormac Hall.
