No Fairytale for Junior C Hurlers..
Our hopes of an East Cork Junior Hurling Championship title at C Grade were dashed at Dungourney on Saturday evening last. Russell Rovers second team proved too strong for our third XV on a beautiful evening for hurling. We had hoped that we could capture the title, especially for some of our long serving players who have given soo much to the Club over many years. Unfortunately sport can be cruel sometimes but we can be proud of the display our lads gave  after a very poor start. After twelve minutes we were 2  3 to  0  2 in arrears. We outscored our opponents by  1  9 to  0  8 during the reminder of the game and in the end lost out on a scoreline of 2  11 to  1  11. a goal from team captain Gary Clerkin followed by a pointed free from Damien Buckley brought us to within a point but by the break we were 2 7 to 1  5 down, our other first half points coming from Gavin O Flynn, Gavin Quill, Damien and Mike Hogan. In fairness to Pat Walsh, Pa O Driscoll and Jacob Mackau our defence were well on top in the second quarter. Padraig Murphy and Daniel Lane came on in the second half. We added six points from Damien, Gavin Quill 2, James Hogan, Colm Power and Daniel Lane but we couldn't get a second goal. Of course it was a bitter disappointment but we must put it in context, having used 50 players at Senior and Junior A this was a great achievement. Credit to players like Mike Hogan who was on the O Flynn Cup winning panel in 1988 and Walshie who was on the Minor County League winning team in 1992 and to team captain Gary Clerkin from Monaghan who joined the Club just a few years ago. Thanks to all the players who tried their very best on the day for Bride Rovers. Thanks also to James, Dan, Shane and Niall who were in charge of the team for the great work they put in all year.

Twitter and Tweet. And Website.
The Tweets and Twitters have been going well all year. So many people at home and abroad are now very hi-tech when it comes to keeping in touch with the activities of the Bride Rovers Club. The online editions of newspapers are growing in popularity. Meanwhile you can follow the Club on twitter at twitter@ Bride RoversGAA or on our own website at www.briderovers.ie  Any news items or general items of interest are very welcome for inclusion and should be sent to Gerard Lane. Please inform family members, relations and friends of Bride Rovers about the ways and means of keeping in contact with the Club.

WELL DONE GIRLS.
Congratulations the Club Camogie team on their great win in the County Final on Sunday evening last. The great win over Glen Rovers was well deserved. The panel had little time to recover after the Co Senior B Football Final defeat to Donoughmore on the previous Tuesday night so this was a great team victory.

COME ON CORK.
What a weekend it will be in Croke park again. With the Hurling Final replay on Saturday evening and a triple-decker of Ladies |Football Finals on Sunday it should be a brilliant time in HQ. Cork Ladies Football team are the most successful team of all time with nine All Irelands in ten years. We wish Cork all the best on Sunday against Dublin and wish Grace, Eleanor and Jennifer all the very from everyone in the Parish and Club.

Co. Minor Hurling League.
We are possibly still in contention for a play off place in the Co MHL. We are one of three teams on 6 points and if Erins Own win their last game they will also be on six points so it seems likely that a three or four way play off will be needed.
