All Ireland Sevens...
On Saturday our hurlers take part in the Kilmacud Crokes All Ireland 7 a side hurling competition in Dublin. The Sevens is now an integral part of the All Ireland weekend. We have taken part on a number of occasions. Initially we participated in the Junior 7's hosted by the St Judes Club and we won the All Ireland title in this grade under the captaincy of Pat Walsh. We have also taken part in the Kilmacud competition on two previous occasions. We will be in a four team group, the draws have not been made at the time of writing. Best wishes to all players and supporters for a great day of hurling.

GOING TO THE DOGS.
The Bride Rovers Club are holding a major fundraiser on Friday October the 3rd - a a Family Fun Night at the Dogs in Curraheen Park in Cork. We are shortly to commence work on a â¬200,000 development project in our grounds so this fundraiser is vitally important to help finance this fully flood lit astro turf training area which will be beneficial to all club teams in the future. The finance for this project is huge but much work has been done with the last two years. However we need a huge push now to make sure this Night at the Dogs is a major success.
There are various ways in which individuals and firms can support the Club with this venture as we require ;Race Sponsors - 11 greyhound races on the Card on the night,Advertisements in the Programme
Prize Sponsorship and Dog Nominations. The Tickets for admission to Curraheen Stadium on the night are â¬10 with family tickets (2 adults and unlimited children under 14) available at just â¬20.
It promises to be a great night out for the whole community. We will be calling house to house selling the tickets and asking for your support. It is many years now since the GAA club have done a parish wide fundraising campaign so we appeal for your support. We would also hope that neighbouring parishes and clubs will support this campaign.
WEEKLY CLUB LOTTO.
Last weeks Lotto jackpot was â¬3600. The four numbers drawn were 3/6/9 & 11 and there was no winner. The winners of â¬30 were Caroline Fitzgerald, Yris Bloemhoffc/o Locallotto, Liam Hoskins c/o Locallotto, Pam Slattery c/o Benskins, Ned Fitzgeerald Castlelyons. This weeks Jackpot for Tuesday Sept 2nd was â¬3800.
Tickets for the weekly Lotto Draw are priced at just ⬠2 each and can be purchased from Club members. They are also available in local business outlets and online at locallotto.ie Support for the weekly Lotto is vital and greatly appreciated as the costs involved in running a GAA Club are increasing all the time. As well as the day to day costs we are planning more major Development work in Pairc na Bride in 2014 so finance is always needed. We are always looking for new Lotto Ticket sellers so if you could sell even a few tickets each week it would be of great benefit to the Club.
Twitter and Tweet. And Website.

The online editions of newspapers are growing in popularity. Meanwhile you can follow the Club on twitter at twitter@ Bride RoversGAA or on our own website at www.briderovers.ie Any news items or general items of interest are very welcome for inclusion and should be sent to Gerard Lane. Please inform family members, relations and friends of Bride Rovers about the ways and means of keeping in contact with the Club.
ALL IRELAND HURLING FINAL.
This time last year the place was all Red and White and the excitement was mighty for the whole month of September as the Cork Hurlers played in two great All Ireland Finals. It's so different this year, two different teams Tipp and Kilkenny and a deadly rivalry between these near neighbours. There's more of a friendly rivalry between Cork and Tipp and Cork and Kerry in football but the Cats and the Premier- well they are serious enemies. It should be a great game as Henry bids for hurling immortality and of course Limerick minors want to atone for the Hawkeye debacle last years that cost them a Final place. In case anyone is wondering this scribe has no spare tickets.
BRIDE ROVERS CLUB SPONSORS.
Thanks to our Main Club Sponsors Rathcormac Tyres, Veoila Environmental Services and O Coileains Bar for their ongoing support.
