Junior Hurling League....
We had two junior hurling league games last week. In the Cavanaghs of Fermoy Avondhu/Imokilly JHL Division 1 we were at home to Shanballymore and in the East Cork JHL Division 4 we had a game v Lisgoold. The game in the Cavanaghs JHL on Monday was our last group game and despite some good early season results we will be in Division Two next year. With nothing at stake we used the Shanballymore game as a warm up game for the Division 4 team. We opened brightly and by half-time we were just one point behind on a score of 2-5 to 2-4. At half-time and during the second nd half we utilised the full panel and were well beaten on a scoreline of 5-14 to 2-6.
East Cork JHL V Lisgoold
Two days later we fielded the clubs third adult hurling team against Lisgoold in the Div 4 League and from the start we settled well and following some good scores were ahead by 2-10 to 0-6 at half-time. Our ability to score goals was impressive and on the night we raised the green flag five times
In the end e ran out comprehensive winners on a score of 5-17 to 2-8.

We travel to Castlemartyr for the next game in the League and in some 10 days time we will have the Championship outing V Killeagh. This game v Killeagh may be slotted in for next weekend -August 9th/10th but it has not been finalised at the time of writing.
Senior Hurling Championship
Our Senior Hurling Championship game v Na Piarsaigh has been fixed for Saturday August the 23rd in Pairc Ui Rinn at 6.15. We had hoped to get this fixture on the Friday night August 22nd but as of now it goes ahead on the 23rd. In our very first Senior Hurling championship game we were defeated by Na Piarsaigh in Fermoy in 2004. Seven years later we met again, this time in Watergrasshill and the city side won by 1 16 to 1 10. Our team and scorers on that occasion; D. Fitzgerald, A. Collins, B. Walsh, T. Moloney, B. Our most recent championship tie against Na Piarsaigh was just two years ago in Pairc Ui Rinn in a first round game. Just a goal separated the sides on that occasion but we lost by 1 10 to 0 10. Team and scorers;

Weekly Club Lotto
Last weekâs draw took place in The Rathcormac Inn on Tuesday July the 29th for a jackpot of â¬2,800. The four numbers drawn were 1/15/23 & 28 and there was no jackpot winner.

Tickets for the weekly Lotto Draw are priced at just ⬠2 each and can be purchased from Club members. They are also available in local business outlets and online at locallotto.ie Support for the weekly Lotto is vital and greatly appreciated as the costs involved in running a GAA Club are increasing all the time. As well as the day to day costs we are planning more major Development work in Pairc na Bride in 2014 so finance is always needed. We are always looking for new Lotto Ticket sellers so if you could sell even a few tickets each week it would be of great benefit to the Club.
Cork Intermediates in Final..
Best of luck to the Cork Intermediate Hurling team who contest the all Ireland Final against Wexford in Nowlan Park on next Saturday. Anthony and Colm Spillane and Colm Barry from Castlelyons and Brian O Sullivan of Fermoy are all on the team and hopefully they will all help bring the All Ireland title to Cork.

Cork and Tipperary meet in a unique All Ireland Senior semi final on Sunday week August 17th. Tickets for the game will be in huge demand.
