Bride Rovers 3-5               Rosscarbery 1-11

Bride Rovers kept their hopes of progression in the Senior A championships alive with a hard fought draw with Rosacarberry In Round 2 of the championship on Tuesday 29th of July.  It was the West Cork side that set their stall out early and attacked us with gusto from the outset. Bride Rovers never really left the blocks and found themselves 7points in arrears coming into the closing stages.  Were it not for some well worked scores and passages of play in the final 10 minutes we would have found ourselves relying on scoring differences in earlier rounds to progress.  The never say die attitude that is always present with this group of players was called upon in earnest to secure the one point to finish top of the table. It gives us plenty to work on going into the A quarterfinal against St Mary's which will be played later in the month. The winner of this game will play in the A semi final and the losers will contest the B competition. St. Mary's also finished top of their group so will undoubtedly prove to be very tough opponents especially as we face a battle against time for some injury worries and many of our players face a very busy few weeks with camogie and minor competitions.
