Footballers in County Semi Final...
On Saturday night our Junior Footballers contest the Semi Final of the County Junior B Grade championship. We've had three good wins to date in the campaign. In May we played Abbey Rovers (Castletownroche)  in Kilworth and won by 4 6 to  0 1. In June we travelled over the road top Castlelyons and defeated Ballyhooley on a scoreline of 3 8 to 1 13. Two weeks ago  in Glenville we overcame Whitechurch by 3 8 to 1  13. Our semi final opponents Kilmeen from West Cork have had a longer route to this stage of the competition. They were defeated  2 6 to 0 6 by Castlelyons in Round 1. Since then they have beaten Lismire, Lough Rovers and Ballinacurra clocking up scores of 8 14, 4  15 and 4  10 in their wins. Coming from the traditional heartland of Cork football Kilmeen are a formidable side and will be very difficult to beat. Injuries have been a big handicap to us and with Junior, Minor and u21 Hurling games in the last two weeks it has been difficult to get much football training done. Nevertheless this is a County Semi Final and it would be a great boost to the Club to progress farther in the Competition. The game is on Saturday night in Cloughduv at 7.30 so go for it lads.
MINORS GO OUT OF COUNTY.
After such a wonderful campaign at Minor level last year which resulted in County Championship and League honours hope were high of good progress this year. We were two grades higher than in 2014 but with many of last years team still underage we were confident enough. A good league campaign in the Spring displayed that we were well able to compete at this level. It was very disappointing then last Wednesday night to go out in the first round. At Carrigtwohill we scored 3  19 against Mid Cork side Eire Og but they clocked up 2  26 to leave us losers by five points. We were eight points behind at half time but put up a battling performance in the second half to reduce the margin. We just couldn't get through for more scores. Well done lads on a great display. Our season is not over, we are still well in contention in the League.

Bishopstown and Courcey Rovers meet in the County Senior Hurling championship on next Sunday July 19th. If Courceys lose we will be meeting them the following weekend in the championship whereas if Bishopstown lose and we are meeting them that tie goes off for a while because of Cork players on the Bishopstown side.

-Shane O'Connor, Shanowen.

This  week’s draw took place on Tuesday July 15th for a jackpot of €2,400.Tickets for the weekly Lotto Draw are priced at just  € 2 each and can be purchased from Club members. They are also available in local business outlets  and online at locallotto.ie Support for the weekly Lotto is vital and greatly appreciated as the costs involved in running a GAA Club are increasing all the time. As well as the day to day costs we are planning more major Development work in Pairc na Bride in 2014 so finance is always needed. We are always looking for new Lotto Ticket sellers so if you could sell even a few tickets each week it would be of great benefit to the Club.

Twitter and Tweet. And Website.
The Tweets and Twitters have been going well all year. So many people at home and abroad are now very hi-tech when it comes to keeping in touch with the activities of the Bride Rovers Club. The online editions of newspapers are growing in popularity. Meanwhile you can follow the Club on twitter at twitter@ Bride RoversGAA or on our own website at www.briderovers.ie  Any news items or general items of interest are very welcome for inclusion and should be sent to Gerard Lane.

Fr. Seanie Returns.
Last Monday Fr. Seanie Barry left the parish after a short holiday. He has returned to his mission work in Nairobi in Kenya and we wish him all the best. He was present in Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday last to see the Cork hurlers reclaim the Munster Championship after eight years. In the Parish where Fr. Seanie works in Nairobi there is a church building project underway at present. Our own Parish Pastoral Council have decide to help with this project. Next weekend an envelope collection will be taken up at all Masses. Anyone in the Club or any supporter who wishes to make a donation can do so by simply putting their offering in an envelope marked 'Fr. Seanie' and giving in a t Mass or to any Club Officer. For many years Fr. Seanie has been an inspiration to the Bride Rovers club and to the parish community so this is a chance in some small way to say 'thank you'.

WELL DONE REBELS.
It was a great weekend for Cork. On Saturday the ladies team overcame Kerry in their Munster Final in Rathmore, well done to the Bride Rovers contingent. Then on Sunday at Pairc Ui Chaoimh the Cork Hurlers bridged an eight year gap to win a great Munster Final with a superb display against Limerick. Cork are now through to the All Ireland semi final on Sunday August 17th.
