Conty Football Championship on Saturday...
On this coming Saturday evening June the 14th we play the next round of the County Junior B Football championship. This is our second year taking part in this competition. Last year we defeated Lough Rovers before losing to Araglen. This year in the first round we had an easy win over Castle Rovers in Kilworth. Our opponents on Saturday evening are neighbours Ballyhooley who participated in the North Cork A Grade football championship for several years before regarding to Junior B. They lost to Lough Rovers in Round 1 but scored 3 15 in their victory over Glenlara in Round 2. In our first round game we were missing several players due to injuries. The situation remains the same with some players back in action but exams and holidays ruling out others. Ballyhooley will provide very tough opposition and we will have to turn in a top class performance if we have any chance of progressing to the next round. The game is fixed for Castletownroche with a 7.30pm start.
SCRAP SATURDAY.
A word of thanks to all those who supported our recent Scrap Metal collection. It was very successful and all funds raised will go to our Development Fund to help with our plans to provide further facilities and improve our existing ones. If there are still quantities of scrap- little or large, available please contact any Club member and we can arrange collection of same if needed.

Next weekâs draw takes place in OâCoileánâs Bar for a jackpot of â¬4,600.
Tickets for the weekly Lotto Draw are priced at just ⬠2 each and can be purchased from Club members. They are also available in local business outlets and online at locallotto.ie Support for the weekly Lotto is vital and greatly appreciated as the costs involved in running a GAA Club are increasing all the time. As well as the day to day costs we are planning more major Development work in Pairc na Bride in 2014 so finance is always needed. We are always looking for new Lotto Ticket sellers so if you could sell even a few tickets each week it would be of great benefit to the Club.
COUNTY SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
We await the losers of the Sarsfields v Douglas game for our Round 2 fixture in the Co. SHC. The Douglas v Sars game is fixed for Pairc Ui Rinn on Monday June 23rd with the losers scheduled to play us the following weekend, June 28th or 29th. These fixtures may change of course due to various circumstances including inter-county activity.
WELL DONE CORK.
The Cork hurlers made no mistake at the second time of asking last Sunday in Thurles. Lucky to get a draw two weeks previously against Waterford the Rebels had a great win in the replay to set up a mouth watering Munster semi final against All Ireland champions Clare on Sunday next. Thurles will be packed for this eagerly awaited repeat of last years All Ireland series. Are Cork better than in 2013? Have Clare gone even further ahead. All will be revealed on Sunday. With the prospect of a Munster Final v Limerick in Pairc Ui Chaoimh Cork will not be lacking in motivation for this game. Get your tickets early!
EXAMS.
The Junior and Leaving Cert Exams are continuing and we wish all our local students the very best in these tests and hope we have a long hot summer when the exams are over.
