No Scór Glory....

Our Scor Leiriu team took part in the Munster Senior Scor Final in the Concert Hall at thr University of Limerick on Sunday last. The opposition from all over the province was provided by Feenagh-Klmeedy (Limerick), Cooraclare ( Clare) and Na Gaeil (Kerry). It was a mighty competition before a fine audience who responded very well to all our humorous  historical anecdotes. On the day the performance went brilliantly and the cast were delighted with the reaction. The Final started at 2.30 and we were on stage around five but the results didn't come until half seven.  The winners were Cooraclare with a performance about the distribution of all Ireland tickets. It would have been nice to win but after a great campaign in East Cork, Cork County and Munster there are no regrets. Cooraclare now go on to the All Ireland Final in Castlebar on April the 26th and we wish them all the best. Our cast was  Orla Arnold (Bean a Ti), John Arnold (Comely Maiden & Kathleen Ni Houlihan), James Bermingham (Irish Soldier, Brian O Driscoll & Davy Fitz), Carol Marie Dooley (Club Player & Viking Soldier), Mossy O Sullivan(Brian Boru). Thanks also to Jonathon Brackett and Ger Lane who took part in the earlier rounds. Thanks also to our supporters and those who sent 'good luck'  messages . Sin deireadh leis an Scor i mbliana, baineamar go leir sult as.

Subs Used; Cian Howard, Nathan Buckley

Cavanaghs of Fermoy Avondhu/Imokilly JHL Div. 1.
Buttevant were  visitors last Saturday for our first home game in the Avondhu/Imokilly J.H.League Division 1.  Unfortunately this game clashed with our Minors otherwise engaged in Cork in the Rebel OG Co. MFL which tied up a few of our panel.
As in the previous two games  we again started slowly and conceded four  points from frees within the first five minutes. Ten minutes into the game we were reduced to 14 players and after the first quarter we were down by 6points to 1 point. Worse was to follow when we were reduced to 13 players due to disciplinary lapses of a serious nature.  The remaining thirteen players dug deep and with points from Stephen, Gavin, Terry and Jerome we were behind by 9points to 6 points at half-time.
For the second half we continued under severe pressure due to our numerical disadvantage  and we can be proud of the remaining players and subs used for their commitment to the cause and the game finished level on a score of 14 points each.
