Bride Rovers 7-9 Rosscarbery 6-7
The senior team recorded their first victory of the season in emphatic fashion in Rathcromac on Sunday last against Rosscarbery. The West cork side have beaten us in all competitive games since our promotion to senior status so a win on a scoreline of 7.9 to 6.7 was very welcomed. The Rovers girls took the game to their opponents from the outset and took an early lead from some well taken scores. This was a lead the team would not let down and had a most respectable score of 6.8 at half time. While weather conditions were poor there were great passages of football that lead to the green and white flags being raised. The defence were tested more so in the second half and withheld a great deal of pressure but Rosscarbery proved why they are still a force to be reckoned with in the top tier of Ladies Football. The last 10 minutes were full of excitement as the Rovers girls had their backs to the wall and with some outstanding saves from Caitriona Vaughan ensuring the 5 point lead would not be eroded. Well done to all concerned and especially those that played a Junior game on Saturday and a minor camogie game on Sunday. While the fixtures continue to come thick and fast it is good to have 2 points secured going into round 3 versus Beara on April 13th with time and venue tbc. Many thanks to all those that helped with catering for the post match refreshments.

Bride Rovers 2-13 Douglas 0-9
In what can only be described as horrible wet conditions, we played our first league game of the year against Douglas B. We started very well, with some of the younger members of our team playing really well. We scored some fine points and a goal from Aoife Deasy left us leading at the break on a scoreline 1-7 to 0-4 points. Douglas came back into the game in the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half, and closed the gap to 2 points at one point. But we defended resolutely & the forwards got on top again, with Aoife Deasy adding another goal, to help us win on a scoreline of 2-13 to 0-9 points.
Also, I would like to congratulate Clodagh Fitzgerald & Evelyn Collins on making their Rovers debuts on Saturday.

Aghada 2-5 Bride Rovers 1-6
We travelled to Aghada on Saturday the 29th of March with eight of our squad absent due to injury, illness or other commitments. The conditions were horrendous with unrelenting rain and a mud-soaked pitch. Despite the odds, the girls put in a trojan performance and played their hearts out in a spirited display. Unfortunately, they were narrowly defeated by a two-point margin.
It would be hard to single out any one player because the team as a whole gave 100%. However, special mention should be given to three of the under 12 squad (Chloe Murphy, Ciara O'Flynn and Shauna Hayes) who came on board at the last minute and played magnificently - their first time ever at under 14 level. Well done, girls!
Scorers: Aoife Cowman (1 goal), Katie Quirke (4 points), Siobhain O'Sullivan and Arianne O'Flynn (1 point each).
Team: Sorcha Tobin, Emma Barry, Aislinn O'Connor, Anna Murray, Arianne O'Flynn, Aoife Cowman, Katie Quirke, Siobhain O'Sullivan, Fiona Barry, Cliona Kearney (capt), Chloe Murphy, Ciara O'Flynn, Shauna Hayes, Caoimhe Hazelwood, Rachel O'Flynn.

Ballinascarthy 2-4 Bride Rover 2-1
Our winning run in the minor camogie league came to an end away to Ballinascarthy last Sunday. Despite this we still have a good chance of qualifying for the final of this league which is presently scheduled for April 19th.
