County U12B Ladies Football Final replay
Bride Rovers 0-5 Aghada 5-4
Our U12 girls lost their U12 County football final replay on Saturday last in Ballinacurra. From the very start of the game we were under severe pressure playing against a stiff breeze. Ella Quinlan made some great saves in goal in the first 15 minutes and our full backline of Rebecca Walsh, Rachael O Flynn and Sorcha Tobin were trying their best to hold out the Aghada forwards. Rachael in particular had a great first 15 minutes, winning almost every ball that came her way. Our half back line of Fiona Barry, Shauna Hayes and Sophie Dorgan were taking a lot of hard tackles from a very physical Aghada side. In midfield, Sarah Murphy and Aoife Cowman were winning some good ball but our half forward line of Caoimhe O Sullivan, Katie Quirke and Anna Murray were finding it difficult to get past the Aghada half back line. Our full forward line of Bronagh Cleary, Lucy Hicks and Caoimhe Hazelwood weren`t seeing much ball in the first half. We held out for 20 minutes but in the last ten minutes Aghada scored 3 goals to give them a commanding lead at the short whistle.
We introduced our subs Rebecca Hill and Ciara O Flynn at half time and made some positional switches. We moved Sarah Murphy to full back and Rachael O Flynn to full forward. We also put Katie Quirke back to centre back and moved Fiona Barry to centre forward. We gave a much better account of ourselves in the second half as we got to grips somewhat with the physical side of the Aghada team. Katie Quirke made some great runs into the Aghada full forward line but some excellent tackling made it difficult to get scores in the early part of the second half. Sarah Murphy was having a good game at full back and with Katie Quirke, succeeded in stopping the Aghada forwards. Katie Quirke did get some great scores late in the game but we weren`t able to make up the deficit. Well done girls. It was not to be on the day. We still have the East Cork championship to play, so keep the heads up.

Bride Rovers 2-4 Fermoy B 1-1
We played Fermoy B last Monday night and emerged winners after a very close game. Fermoy scored first with a point and even though they had a lot of attacks this was there only score in the first half which shows how well Megan, Kate, Caoimhe Michelle, Alanna, Niamh and Lauren were playing. We pushed forward a number of times also Lily won a free which she passed to Ciara who pointed. This was our only score of the half. We played better with a strong wind in the second half as Shauna passed to Ciara for a point. Shauna then was fouled and she pointed the resulting free. Fermoy scored a goal but Alice Aoife P, Aoife L, Jessie and Ruby were chasing everything and sending the ball forward. Caoimhe collected a pass and after a great run scored a goal. Kate L, Shauna L and Molly were playing well putting pressure on the Fermoy backs. We finished the stronger with Shauna scoring 1-1 before the end. Well done girls.
