U14C County Final, Ballinlough
Bride Rovers 5-10 Clonakilty 1-5
The highlight of the week for the club for undoubtedly the victory of our U14 camogie players in the U14 county final last Saturday afternoon at sun-drenched Ballinlough. Clonakilty had beaten us earlier in the summer so we were expecting a keen contest but this was a final where everything clicked for us and the result was not in doubt from early in the second half. Our defence withstood early pressure to concede only a few points while our attack were always dangerous, scoring 3-6 in a great first half. We led 3-6 to 1-3 at half-time which was a healthy lead but the game was still undecided. However, we got the start in the second half that Clonakilty needed and within minutes we were 15 points clear. To their credit, Clonakilty never gave up and fought right to the end on a day when they had no luck in front of goals either. Their no. 12 Meabh Deasy was also a worthy winner of the player of the match award. The camogie board presented a fine trophy for this county title and Bride Rovers captain, Emma Hazelwood accepted it on behalf of the team which sparked off great celebrations. Well done to everyone on the panel and to their mentors Oliver O'Connor and Mossie O' Sullivan.

U16B County Quarter-Final
Sunday, September 15th , Glanworth
Bride Rovers 2-5 Boherbue 2-12
Our U16s exited the 2013 county championship but emerged with great credit from a hard-fought encounter with Boherbue in the county quarter final at Glanworth last Sunday. Boherbue came to this game as one of the favourites in the B grade this year and are very strong physically whilst playing the game in a tough but clean fashion. Bride Rovers could not take advantage of a strong wind in the first half, our only scores being 2 points each from Elaine and Grace Culloty. This left us turning around level at 4 points each at half-time and Boherbue had the advantage of the elements in the second half. They make it pay and ,while Meg Kelliher and Karen Sheehan both scored goals in that second period, Boherbue enjoyed the higher scoring rate to win by 7 points at the end. This group still has plenty to look forward to, back in East Cork with a league final and a championship semi-final still to play for.

Senior Football
Senior B Semi-Final
Bride Rovers 0-11 Clonakilty 1-19
We exited the Senior B competition at CIT on Thursday, September 12th when we were beaten by Clonakilty at the semi-final stage. Our girls matched Clon for much of the match and only trailed by a point at half-time after they notched a goal on the stroke of half-time. Clonakilty upped their performance as the game entered the closing stages and ran out comfortable winners in the end. Well done to all our panel and to the management team of Irene Hogan, Betty Cahill and Sinead O' Driscoll for all their efforts throughout the year.
Junior Football
Our junior football team have qualified for the knock-out stages of the county championship and will face Mourneabbey B in the next round, opposition we already played in the league earlier in the year. September 21st has been mentioned as a provisional date for this match.
U14 Football
Our East Cork championship semi-final meeting with Rockban is now scheduled for Saturday, September 21st at 5:30pm. Venue is Rathcormac.

U12C County Championship Quarter-Final
Tuesday, September 10th, Dromtarriffe
Bride Rovers 7-10 Dromtarriffe 1-4.
Our U12s put up a great performance, coming soon after a tough game at Erins Own, to comfortably overcome Dromtarriffe at their pitch on Tuesday, September 10th. This set up a semi-final meeting with Mourneabbey on Monday, September 16th at Mallow.
U12C County Championship Semi-Final
Monday, September 16th, Mallow
Bride Rovers 4-9 Mourneabbey 0-9
Bride Rovers qualified for a second county final in a week when our U12s had an emphatic win over Mourneabbey in Mallow on Monday night. After conceding the first 2 points of the game, our girls largely took over and had the better of exchanges for the rest of the half. We continued in the same manner in the second half and the result was not in doubt throughout. We picked off some fantastic scores and our backs were very tight while Ella Quinlan kept a clean sheet in goals.
U12 football is strong in East Cork this year as Erins Own, narrow winners over the Rovers in the East Cork league, have now qualified for the A final, beating Glanmire by one point in their semi-final. Furthermore, Aghada will provide our opposition in the B final which is provisionally scheduled to be played this weekend. The quality of this local competition has stood to our team also and we're now just one hour away from another county title. The older members of the panel also took part in the 2011 U12 county final which we lost agonisingly to Passage and that experience should also stand to them when they face Aghada this time around.
