Junior Football....
Bride Rovers 7-12 St Colmans 0-6
We played St Colmans last Thursday night in a 13 a side A County Championship game. We went down unfortunately not knowing what to expect as we only had 12 players available to play due to injuries, sickness, holidays & other commitments. But in fairness to all the girls that lined out, they went out with the attitude that "we're here now, we'll give a go". And by God, did they do just that! In what can only be described as an epic performance from one and all, with some great passages of play & some cracking scores. Our defence were well on top throughout, with our forwards & midfielders linking up very well to create scores seemingly at their ease. In the end, we ran out easy winners in the end on a scoreline of 7-12 to 6pts.
Fermoy B are next up, so hopefully we can bring this momentum forward into that game & get a good result.

Minor Football
Friday, August 9, Carrigtwohill
Carrigtwohill 0-7 Bride Rovers 3-22
Our minors continued their recent excellent form in the East Cork league when they had a comfortable win at Carrigtwohill last Friday night. Our first half performance, against the wind and the hill, laid the foundation for our win as we led 2-13 to 0-4 at the break. Our panel is strong which is just as well as we have accumulated a number of injuries recently. Hopefully, those will have cleared up before league playoff matches and county championship begins when everyone will be needed.
Match Panel : Aine Cashman, Aoife O Riordan, Mary Hazelwood (0-1), Emma Roche, Laura Quirke (1-1), Jessica Howard, Trish O'Sullivan (0-1), Grace Culloty (1-8), Karen Sheehan (0-1), Katie Connor (0-1), Meg Kelliher (0-2), Elaine Culloty (1-6), Aoife Deasy (0-1), Laura Pratt, Emma Barry, Grainne Noonan, Maria O'Sullivan, Emma Hazelwood, Claire Murphy
U16 Football
Our U16s travelled to Carrigaline last Tuesday to return a friendly fixture from earlier in the year. This was a very useful outing for the U16 panel who had not played together as a group for a few weeks, as they prepare for upcoming East Cork playoff matches and county championship..
Bride Rovers Funday, Sunday August 25th.
This year's funday will be held at Pairc na Bride on Sunday, August 25th. Last year's event was a huge success, enjoyed by everyone who came along, and with the weather being so much better this year, we're hoping for even better this year.
