Junior A Hurling Championship....
Last Saturday night our Junior A Hurling team went down by the slimmest of margins, 0-19 to 0-18, to Carrigtwohill in Watergrasshill. Having' lost to Dungourney in Round 1, this was our last-chance-saloon to remain in the hunt for the Jamesy Kelleher Cup.
In a game that was always close, with little or nothing to separate the sides, a draw would indeed have been a fair result at the end of 60 minutes. Dave Burke was in impressive form throughout the game, and his contribution of 0-11 was very significant. Though we had raced into an early lead, Carrigtwohill pegged us back mid-way through the half, and points from William Finnegan and Gavin O'Flynn gave us a one point lead, 0-8 to 0-7, at half time. The second half was nip and tuck with the sides' level on several occasions and extra time looking likely, but while Eoin Murphy and Dave Burke added two with time running out, Carrigtwohill came back to level with two of their own, a free and one from play, to level the game on 60 minutes. With two minutes of time added on, we conceded a free which was duly converted and we were out of the Championship after a great game of hurling.                                                                     James Bermingham & Officials

On the Tuesday night prior to the Championship, we played Killeagh in the Cavanagh's of Fermoy Avondhu/Imokilly regional League and after being level at half time 0-5 each, we produced an excellent finish to go from two points down with a couple of minutes remaining to win by 1-16 to 1-11 following a late scoring burst. Dave Burke was in scoring form, getting 10 points, while Alan O' Keeffe ( 1-2) , Richard Cahill, Eoin Murphy and Stephen Hackett all added scores to secure the win.

Junior Hurling League
On Monday night we travelled to Shanagarry to take on Russell Rovers in the Junior League. The game was played in brilliant sunshine with temperatures in the 20s. The local side raced into an early lead and were dominant all over the field, but a spirited performance in the second half which yielded 6 pointed frees from Darren Moore, and two from play from Daniel Lane, made it a more competitive second half.

Championship Draws.
We will know who our 4th round opponents are in the Senior Hurling Championship next Tuesday night, when the draws will be made in Páirc Uí Chaoimh @ 8pm. The only team we can't draw at this stage is Carrigtwohill as we had met them in Round 1, while Ballinhassig are out of the Championship having lost to Killeagh last weekend. This 4th round fixture is pencilled in for the August weekend.
We have a Red FM SH League on this Friday 12th July, @ 7.30 in Na Piarsaigh grounds, Farranree.

Munster Football Final:
Congrats to James Bermingham and his umpires, Brendan O'Driscoll, Raymond Hegarty, Michael Keating and Paddy Bermingham,(pictured above) who officiated at the Munster Minor Final in Killarney last Sunday, where Kerry saw off the challenge of Tipperary. Well done to James on an excellent performance.Conor Counihan's side disappointed in the Senior game, but their second half performance suggests that Cork may well have a say in the destination of Sam, as they had in 2010 when Kerry took the Munster title. Time will tell.

Munster Hurling Final on Sunday
Cork will travel in numbers to the Gaelic Grounds this Sunday hoping to win their 52nd Munster title and their first since 2006. Their last final meeting with Limerick was in 1992 in Semple Stadium in Thurles, when Cork emerged winners 1-22 to Limerick 3-11 and went on to the All -Ireland Final where they were beaten by Kilkenny. This final has widespread appeal and tickets are in short supply for what should be a great occasion. Best wishes to Brian Murphy, who will miss the game through injury and will be a major loss to the Cork defence.

Primary game
The Primary Game will feature our own Brian Roche and Siobhan O Sullivan in a Cork Jersey and it will be a proud day for Donal & Eileen,Mossie and Helen and the families to grace the Gaelic Grounds on Munster final day.
