U14 Hurling....

We played the first round of the U14 hurling championship 2 weeks ago against Brian Dillons and won on a convincing score of Bride Rovers 4-20 Brian Dillons 0-2. All players were outstanding on the night not allowing Brian Dillons any chances. Conor scoring 1-2 Eoin 0-2 Griffin 0-2 Brian 0-7 Jordan 1-6 Shaun 0-2 Mark 1-0 Christopher 1-0
Ben's puck outs were perfect as for the defence John, Shane, Matthew, Ciaran and Patrick they made some vital passes to assist the forwards. Kieran did a lot of running throughout the game. Peter, Tom, Seamus, Joe and Cian were all introduced and played well.

We then went on to play St Catherine's in the semi final. We knew going into this game that it was going to be tough but we put up a good challenge on the day. Brian scored our first point however our backs Shane Matthew and John were put under a lot of pressure at this stage as St Catherines attacked and scored 1-3 despite Ben bringing off a number of great saves. Eoin and Brian played some outstanding hurling as they were marking 2 very strong players. Some great catches and clearances from Patrick sent us into the forwards with Shaun deflecting a ball into Peter's path and he sent it to the net. Ciaran and Kieran were both defending well and doing a lot of running while Mark and Christopher were chasing everything in the forward. Jordan and Conor were working hard both winning frees which Brian pointed. Catherines attacked again and scored 0-2 before the break.
We started the second half with a pointed 65 from Shane but Catherines then scored a point. Jordan then scored a point as we were heading into the final quarter. Then Catherines scored 3 goals against the run of play which we couldn't claw back. Seamus, Tom and Cian were all introduced and played well

U14 Football

We contested the U14 football championship last Friday in White Church taking on Cill na Martra. We started strong with points from Eoin and Ciaran. Mark scored 1-2 with some great passes from Shane and Seamus. Cill na Martra scored 1-4 as Ben in goal reliable as always was being helped at the back by Matthew Christopher and Patrick. We then had points from Eoin, Brian and Conor before half but Cill na Martra proved too strong as they got through to score 2-1 despite the best efforts of Peter and Tom.
The second half proved to be a different story Griffin and Sean were introduced and chased everything. Eoin scored 0-1 and Brian 2-0 throughout the second half but Cill na Martra scored an additional 2-5 to allow them to progress to the next round.
