U12 Football....
Our U12 girls played two football matches recently, one at home to Fermoy and one away to Delaneys. For the Fermoy game, the weather wasn`t very nice with strong winds and rain showers but our girls tore into the match from the start. We got a couple of well worked goals early on and this helped to steady any nerves very quickly. We added some fine points to these two goals and by half time we were well ahead but we had played with the wind in the first half. We were expecting fermoy to come at us from the restart but it was our girls who made the better chances and added to our first half tally quite quickly. Our backs were well on top with Rachel and Fiona controlling things at the back for us. Sarah & Aoife in midfield were keeping the ball moving into to the forward line where Katie and Lucy were causing the Fermoy backs a lot of problems. Ciara and Shauna were also making life difficult for their markers. At the final whistle we were well ahead on the scoreboard. Well done to all.
For the Delaney`s match, it was clear early on that we were much too strong for this team who are only in their second season of competitive action. Again it was a cold and windy night but at least it was dry. Ella wasn`t troubled much in goal and indeed showed her flexibility when switched out field for the second half. Rachel, Sophie and Rebecca Walsh were not troubled much in the full back line in the first half and Fiona, Caoimhe Hazelwood and Caoimhe O Sullivan were in great form in the half back line. Sarah and Aoife were soild again in midfield and Katie, Shauna and Anna were playing some great stuff in the half forward line. Lucy, Ciara and Rebecca Hill were causing a lot of problems for the Delaneys full back line. We made a lot of substitutions during the game to give everyone a chance and our subs Sorcha, Bronagh and Chloe got to play for a good part of the match and were outstanding. Again we were comfortable winners of this game.

Senior/Junior Ladies Football
Our combined seniors and juniors played a useful practice match against Glanmire last week in Pynes, winning by a few points in a competitive encounter. Team management are keeping the panel of players quite busy, during the break before competition resumes, and another practice match is planned for this week (Thursday) against Douglas.
Saturday, May 25 Fun Walk for Bride Rovers and the Mercy Hospital Foundation
Thanks to everyone who participated in the sponsored fun walk on Saturday, May 25th at 12 noon in Rathcormac to raise funds for the club and for the Mercy Hospital Foundation. This was a great success and we were very lucky to get such fantastic weather. Thanks to everyone who contributed cakes for the sale in the clubrooms afterwards also.
Sciath na Scol
At the time of writing, Rathcormac NS are preparing for a Sciath na Scol camogie final against Blarney. Best of luck from everyone at Bride Rovers.
U10 Camogie
We played a challenge match against Mitchelstown on Sunday last. Mitchelstown showed they had been playing a lot longer than our girls and won on the day. As this was the first time a number of our girls played camogie it was a great game and all the girls were very enthusiastic. Shauna was our only scorer on the day and all girls got equal playing time. Well done girls.
