Seniors In Championship Action....
Well it's that time of the year again when the Cork County Senior Hurling Championship begins . After a terrible spring and a stop/start beginning to our 'summer' season it doesn't feel like midsummer but we're only three weeks from the longest day of the year. Last year we had a roller coaster campaign in the Senior Championship ending with David Burke's last minute goal in Pairc Ui Rinn. That score preserved our Senior Status for this year and so on Sunday next we set out on the road in this years campaign. Our opponents are Carrigtwohill. We last met Carrig in the 2010 Co SHC when we had a 1 13 to 0 14 win in Ballynoe. Since then Carrig went on to capture the County Senior Championship title in 2011. They had a marvellous year which culminated in never to be forgotten Co Final victory over CIT. Last year they reached the Quarter Final of the Championship while we lost three games in the competition. Our form to date this year has been patchy. We've had just one victory in the Co SHL, over Glen Rovers, but suffered a few heavy defeats. Carrig on the other hand are motoring well all year. When it comes to the Championship of course League and Challenge games matter for little as it's all down to the performance on the day. We've had some great championship displays in the Senior grade in the last decade. We go into Sunday's game as rank outsiders but Bride Rovers are renowned as a great championship side. It will be very difficult to achieve a victory over Carrig but we've nothing to lose. Go for it lads, the Club and Parish are behind ye. He game is fixed for Pairc Naomh Caitrionaigh in Ballynoe on Sunday evening at 8pm. Let's hope we have a huge following from all corners of the parish supporting the lads.

County Football Championship.
Just three nights after the Senior Hurling game we will be in Championship action again in the Co Junior B Football Championship. On Wed night June 5th at 7.30pm we face Araglen in the second round of the competition. We had a deserved win over Lough Rovers in the first round butt Araglen will be much better opposition.
East Cork JHL Division 4.
WE played our first game in the Div 4 JH League on Tuesday of last week. Aghada were visitors to Pairc Na Bhride.
We had nineteen players togged out and eligible to play with our third team on the night. We started the game with the advantage of the elements and took an early lead with some excellent points but a goal by Aghada against the run of play set us back. Some great points from play put us back in the lead but a further goal by Aghada gave them the lead. A wonderful goal by Stephen Hackett had us leading on a score of 1-9 to 2-5 at half-time.
The second half saw both teams swapping scores at will and two further goals by Aghada were cancelled by goals from Alan and Stephen. Following some exciting passages of hurling both teams exchanged points and with 1 minute to go we led by 2 points but a late goal for the Seasiders saw us losing by 5-14 to 4-16 following a most exciting game.
Scorers: Stephen Hackett 2-5, Richie Cahill 1-4, Alan O'Keeffe 1-3, Gavin O'Flynn 0-2, Damien Buckley 0-1, Darren Moore 0-1.
