U10 Hurling....

Our U10 team travelled to Tallow on Saturday last where they played in a blitz. They played Castlelyons, Ballyduff, Tallow and won all 3 games. It was great to see so many boys interested in playing. We had the highest number of players with all boys getting equal game time. Well done lads keep it up.

U14 Hurling

We continued our U14 Hurling league campaign on Wednesday the 10th when we travelled to White Church. We were out played on the night as we only had 15 players and a lot of them had already played a Sciath Na Scoil game that day. (Both Boys and girls won their first hurling Sciath Na Scoil games. Well done.) White Church scored 2-2 in the first half as we failed to get on the score board. Ben in goal was bringing off a number of saves but the shots were coming fast and furious. Shane moved to defence and with Peter, Matthew, Ciaran and Patrick tried to lock down the back line. Cian and Shaun got on the score board with a goal each while the Roches, Griffin and Jordan were chasing everything. John Conor and Mark played well but overall White Church proved too strong scoring an additional 3-4 throughout the second half.

Bride Rovers 4-3 Whites Cross 0-1
We were up next taking on Whites Cross. We started well with Ciaran sending a long ball forward some great attacking from John and Mark resulted in a goal for Shaun. Kieran was badly fouled and had to be taken off Conleth scoring a point from the resulting free. Ben, Peter, Shane and Patrick were playing with great determination cutting off all attacks.
Griffin was chasing everything as the second half started. Whites Cross scored a point which was their only score of the game. Conor was fouled and again Conleth stepped up to point. Cian won the puck out and passed to Eoin who scored a goal. Brian scored a point while Jordan passed to Conor who goaled. We were then awarded a penalty which Conleth dispatched to the net. Mathew Joe Luc Tom and Craig were all introduced allowing everyone some game time.

Bride Rovers 2-4 Bandon 2-3

Next up was Bandon they were after a rest and were fresher as the heavy ground had taken its toll on our lads. They opened the score with a point as were pushing forward however our backs Ben, ending the ball forward. Mark was chasing everything in the forwards then Shaun won a free which Conleth pointed. Bandon pointed again while Conor passed to Shaun who goaled just on half time.
Bandon came out on the attack in the second half scoring 2-1 before we settled with Cian scoring a goal Brian 0-2 and Conleth pointing a free when John was fouled. Bandon attacked again as Peter, Jordan, Shane and Patrick were putting their body on the line to keep the ball out and hold Bandon scoreless until the final whistle. Well done to all on 2 great wins.
