Senior Football....

Our senior team played their first game of the season against Gabriel Rangers on Easter Monday and were defeated by last year's league champions on a scoreline of 1.8 to 7 points. A strong wind in Castletown-Kinneigh proved to have a major influence on the game with both teams failing to score more than two points against it. The Rovers girls started the strongest had had four points to spare at half time after playing with the wind. This lead was not significant enough however as Gabriels availed of the strong breeze to outscore us 1.5 to 0.1 in the second half. Rosscarberry are the opposition next week and two further games in April sees the end of the league. The girls will no doubt want to avenge for this defeat and record their first win in the league.

U16 Football
After a few weeks of inactivity on the playing front, out U16s had a good workout in a challenge match against Ballyduff, Co.Waterford on Easter Monday. Thanks to Ballyduff for hosting us and this was good preparation for upcoming league fixtures.

U14 Football
Our U14 panel is in league action against local rivals Fermoy on Thursday, April 4th, throw-in at 6pm approx. at the Rovers main pitch. We have lost 2 games against strong Inch and Glanmire sides, but played reasonably well in both games and trained well in the meantime, so we will be hoping to turn our league campaign around against Fermoy. Everyone in the panel in requested to attend for this important match.

U12 Football
Our U12s got off to a great start in 2013 when they had a win over Rockban at our main pitch last Saturday, March 30th. Their next fixture is against Inch Rovers at Rathcormac on Wednesday, April 3rd , 6pm start.
