Bride Rovers' Junior Camogie panel are back in a county final after qualifying in style against Valley Rovers at Castle Road on Sunday, September 2nd. This match did not provide the challenge that many were expecting and we ran out easy winners. The final is scheduled for 6pm on Sunday, September 9th at Castle Road, Mahon and everyone in the club is encouraged to get behind this fine team and their mentors on the big day.
On Sunday evening we played Valley Rovers in the County Semi Final in Castle Road. We played them already and had a good win. We approached this game with confidence as we had a good challenge game behind us. From the first ball we dominated play and slowly went on to put points on the score board. Some great saves from the Valley Rovers keeper kept their team in the game. With the game evenly matched a goal from Grace Kearney gave the team a big lift. Five minutes later Grace Kearney hit the net from a well struck 30 metre free. This was followed with some great scoring. Points from S. O' Driscoll. S. Walsh, J Cahill, C. Power, Trish O' Sullivan and G Kearney gave the Rovers a well deserved lead of 2-09 to 0-03 at the break.
We continued to dominate the second half with Grace Kearney adding two more goals. Grace continued to add scores to the board with a further four points. By this stage of the game Bride Rovers began to dominate the play allowing the forward line to enjoy good periods of play resulting in Rovers lead stretching even further. Points from S. Walsh, K O' Connor, J Cahill and C. Power stretched the rovers lead even further. This was followed up by a goal from Laura Murphy. A late drive from Valley Rovers resulted in a goal. As the final whistle sounded we ran out comfortable winner with a score line of 5-17 to 1-03. It was a great display from this team showing great team spirit. Great movement, great passing combined with a great scoring display from the forward line means we now move on to the county final in great form and will relish the opportunity to compete for the county title. A big thanks to all those who came out to support the team. The County final will now take place on Sunday 9th at the same venue at 6pm. We encourage people to come out and support the girls as they aim to bring the County title back to Rathcormac.

Saturday, September 1st.
Bride Rovers 2-3 Enniskeane 7-3
Bride Rovers' U14 Camogie panel were in county semi-final action against Enniskeane on Saturday, September 1st at Castle Road, Mahon. Things did not go our way and injuries to some of our players disadvantaged us seriously as we lost by 7-3 to 2-3. However, the girls played their hearts out and were unlucky when a goal was disallowed at a crucial stage of the second half, which would have put us in front. Enniskeane went on to win well and we wish them the best of luck in the final.
Scorers : Grace Culloty 2-0, Emma Barry 0-1, Laura Quirke 0-1, Arianne O Flynn 0-1.

Bride Rovers 1-9 Gabriel Rangers 4-4
Sunday, September 3rd Brinny
Bride Rovers U12 put up a good fight in their county championship quarter final against Gabriel Rangers in Brinny last Sunday but went down to a 4 point defeat unfortunately. Gabriel Rangers took control within five minutes scoring a goal and it took our girls a while to settle. It wasn't our day , hitting the cross bar on many occasions and a couple of wides. At one stage we were down seven points but brought it back to one point. However Gabriel rangers went on to win by four points.
final score, thanks to all the girls on their performance on the day . Scores Rachael O' Flynn 1-1 , Katie Quirke 0-8

Tuesday, August 28th, Rathcormac
Bride Rovers 1-8 Aghada 4-13.
Trailing only by a couple of points at half-time, we were optimistic about our second half chances at home to Aghada but our shooting was very wayward in that second period, in contrast to our opposition who were far more clinical. We had some good performances but would have hoped to see the game out better.
Scorers : Jen Cahill 0-3, Meg Kelliher 1-0, Katie Connor 0-1, Trish O'Sullivan 0-2, Elaine Culloty 0-2.

Friday, August 31, Carrigtwohill.
Carrigtwohill 6-11 Bride Rovers 4-10
Our last minor group game ended in defeat away to Carrigtwohill last Friday night. We led by 8 points with 12 minutes to go but appeared to tire badly and ended up losing by 7 points, conceding several goals in the process. Still, we did post an impressive score ourselves and the other good news is that we finished third in the group overall and qualified for an East Cork championship semi-final away to Aghada on Thursday, September 6th. Depending on that result, we will then qualify for the A/B East Cork final and the A/B County Quarter final, so there is a lot to look forward to.
