Bride Rovers 0-14 Blackrock 2-11 - 2012-08-18 20:47:00

Our Senior Hurling team had to give way this evening to the famed Blackrock in an exciting Round 3 game at Headquarters. Having led from the start, and ahead at half time by 9 points to 4, we seemed to be in a good position at the break, having scored four unanswered points in the closing minutes of this half.

However, Blackrock opened the second half with a point inside the opening minute, and proceeeded to take the game to the Rovers for the entire second half. We did recover from a Blackrock goal mid-way through the half to regain a three-point advantage, but a second Blackrock goal seemed to take the life out of the Rovers, and it was an uphill struggle to the end. Despite a very spirited finale, where referee John Sexton added six and a half minutes of injury time, we could not break down the strong Blackrock defence and were unable to produce the goal we badly needed, finally losing out by 2-11 to 0-14.

We now play Cloyne in a battle to maintain our senior status for 2013.
