Junior Championship on Saturday night.
We play Carrignavar in the first round of the East Cork Oil Junior A grade Hurling Championship on Saturday night. Having being heavily defeated by Dungourney in our last Imokilly/Avondhu JHL game last week we will find it hard to pick up the pieces for this game. Carrignavar defeated us in the 2008 championship on their way to winning their first ever East Cork Title. In the Senior Hurling Championship to date we have used a total of nineteen players in the games v Erins Own and Na Piarsaigh. Carrig are again one of the favourites to win the Jamesy Kelleher Cup outright. They will provide very tough opposition for us. We started the Inter Divisional League in great fashion and our displays v Ballyhooley, Shanballymore, Cobh, Russell Rovers and Castlemartyr were all top class despite the fact we were very short of player numbers. The game is timed for 7.30pm in Felix Sarsfield Memorial Park Watergrasshill. Go for it lads and hurl to the very best of yere ability.
Senior to face Rockies.
The Draws for Round 3 of the 2012 Cork County Senior Hurling Championship were made at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Monday night. Cloyne, Blackrock, ourselves and the losers of the Glen Rovers/Bishopstown tie were all in the drum. We have been drawn against Blackrock while Cloyne will play the losing team of the All City Tie -fixed for Wed June 27th. Our game against the Rockies will be dependent on the result of the Munster Semi Final next Sunday.
Facing Blackrock at this stage of the championship is a major undertaking. The winners will be back in the championship while the losers will be in the relegation final. Blackrock lead the Roll of Honour in Cork Senior Hurling with a massive 32 County Senior Titles to their credit. They have a very proud history and will provide a stern test of any club side in Cork. All we can do is to prepare diligently and seriously for the game, which could well be played in the next two weeks.
The 'plum' tie in Round 3of the Premier Intermediate Championship is surely Watergrasshill v Castlelyons.

Last week's draw took place in O'Coileán's Bar, Rathcormac on Tuesday June 12th for a jackpot of â¬3,200. The numbers drawn were 9/17/19 & 28 and there was no jackpot winner.

MINOR HURLING.
Our Minor Hurling team played two games in the County Non Exam Player League last week. On Tuesday we made the 150 mile round trip to Rossmore to play the local team Kilmeen/ Kilbree. The first half was very even but with the wind in the second half the home side won well by 16 points to 6.
On Saturday night we hosted Buttevant in Pynes field and after a high scoring game the visitors won by 3 15 to 1 13.
The first round of the Minor A Hurling championship will be played in early July so all players are asked to make a big effort over the next few weeks.
CAR BOOT SALE.
The monthly Rathcormac Car Boot Sale is on next Sunday. With the counter attraction of the Cork v Tipperary game in Pairc Ui Chaoimh help is needed both on Sunday afternoon and also on Saturday morning.
Club Executive Meeting.
The next Club Executive meeting is on Monday next June 25th at 9pm sharp.
Cork V Tipperary.
"The hay is saved and Cork is bet the thousands wildly sing...." Well one thing is certain there wont be much hay saved between this and next weekend! As for the result of the game, well Cork and Tipp games are unique, form goes out the window when these two old rivals meet and hopefully it will be no different next Sunday . With teams like Clare and Limerick already consigned to the qualifier route getting to the Munster Final is a more attractive option. We wish Brian Murphy and all his Cork team-mates the very best 'on the banks of our own lovely Lee'. The Munster Council is hoping for an attendance of over 30,000 -this would be a decent crowd when we saw just over 12,000 in Thurles for Clare and Waterford last Sunday. Fair play to Waterford hurlers, what heart and spirit they have after all the setbacks they are in the Munster Final again. It is the first time in the history of the Decie that hey have qualified for four consecutive Munster Senior Hurling Finals. The playing resources in Waterford are limited but they keep coming forward with exciting hurlers carrying a great tradition.
Imagine if ticket prices were slashed by â¬10 each for last and next Sundays games? We'd be looking at an attendance of 40,000 in 'the Park'.
