East Cork Ladies Football Junior C Championship Final
Bride Rovers 5-14 Youghal 2-1
Bride Rovers' first 2012 silverware was captured at Buck Leary's cross on Thursday, May 31st when our second ladies football team captured an East Cork Championship title in their first year of existence. Great credit is due to the panel of players who put some tough defeats in the league earlier in the year behind them and improved relentlessly with every game. This was a game where we made our mark on the scoreboard very early on and never looked back, our tally of scores including a remarkable 2-7 from Sinead O'Driscoll. Leading by nine points approaching half-time, we hit a golden spell where we scored a further 2-3 in about 5 minutes and the result was not in doubt afterwards. Youghal never gave up though and made a game of it in the second half which reflects very well on them as a group. They are relatively new to ladies football as a club and it will not be long before they make an impact especially as their underage teams are making great progress. This title was Bride Rovers' though and captain Laura O'Keeffe proudly accepted the trophy on behalf of the panel from East Cork chairman Billy McCarthy. Congratulations to all involved.

Bride Rovers 5-3 Lisgoold 0-2
We played this game at home last Thursday the 31st. We played well from the start with Ella in goal bringing off some great saves as she caught a number of high balls. Shauna and Fleur played well in the back line while Alanna and Abbey were chasing everything. Chloe, Caoimhe H and Aoife scored goals and Sophie scored a point in the first half. The 2 Rebecca's were working hard in the forward line.
We attacked again throughout the second half with Ciara and Sophie scoring goals while Caoimhe O'S and Alice scored points. Naoise, Caoimhe K and Megan were using all the skills they learned in training as they won the ball on a number of occasions. Lisgoold did score 1 point before the final whistle went. A great win girls keep the good work up.
