Bride Rovers 1-8 Glanmire 1-12.
Bride Rovers U16s were defeated in the East Cork League B final on Friday, May 19th by Glanmire. Despite a great start, where we led by 2 points in as many minutes, Glanmire had the upper hand for the rest of the half and would have led by more than 6 points at the break were it not for the sterling efforts of my player of the match, Aine Cashman at full-back, who came to our rescue on many occasions. We expected a reaction from our girls in the second half and were not disappointed as they were much improved. Some positional switches paid off and we gradually created more and more scoring opportunities. Most goal chances went a begging though and while we closed the gap a little, we were still 4 points in arrears at the final whistle. We should have no complaints with the result and congratulate Glanmire on their win. Thanks also to hosts Carrigtwohill whose pitch was in fantastic condition. League action for our U16s thus comes to a close for 2012 and while it is disappointing to lose a final, the panel and mentors have a lot to be proud of when they look back. We still have championship action to look forward to later in the year.

Junior Ladies Football.
Our Junior Ladies footballers had a very worthwhile practice game against Fermoy on Sunday, May 20th. This was a high scoring affair where we put up our best score yet of 4-12. Our bad run of luck with injuries continues though and while none of them are critical, thankfully, we could do without them.

Bride Rovers 3-3 Inch Rovers 2-10
We suffered our second league final defeat in the space of three days, again by a margin of 4 points, when Inch Rovers travelled to Rathcormac and came away with a deserved win. The sides were level at half-time but Inch's scoring rate was crucially higher during the second half and we never quite established parity. They also made some positional switches to limit our scoring threat which worked for them. We also didn't enjoy much luck especially as Inch made 3 or 4 goal line clearances during the game which proved vital in the end but this should not take away from their victory and we wish to congratulate them on it. Our U14s put in a good performance though and this will stand to them when they enter into county championship action next Sunday. Well done to all the panel and mentors on a good league campaign.

Great display of football played in Killeagh on Sunday the 20th of May . It wasn't long before we started the scoring . Inch Rovers responded straight away and didn't leave us away with anything . We were down two points at half time . Second half was very entertaining as we levelled with Inch with only ten minutes remaining but Inch proved just to be too strong and finished on a score line of 4-6 to 3-5 .
