Junior Ladies Football
Wednesday, April 11th , Rathcormac
Bride Rovers 0-7 St Peters 3-8

Our junior panel put in their best performance to date against visiting St Peters and are showing huge signs of improvement. There were prospects of winning the game at half-time when we only trailed by a couple of points but our scoring rate did drop in the second half. Tiredness did set in and more passes were seen to go astray but in general fitness levels have improved considerably all round since we started a few weeks ago. Two league games remain and these will be great preparation for our East Cork quarter-final clash at home to Mayfield in mid May.

Match Panel : Carol Noonan, Cynthia Buckley, Laura O'Keeffe, Megan Geaney, Erin O'Keeffe, Sarah Gleeson, Maria Barry, Niamh Barry (0-1), Mary Hazelwood, Sheila Walsh, Imelda Dorgan (0-1), Orla Murphy, Finola Hogan, Sinead O'Driscoll (0-5), Yris Bloemhoff, Clodagh Butler, Avelina Crowley

Saturday, April 14th , Kealkil
St Colums 1-12 Bride Rovers 0-4

Bride Rovers are still waiting for their first win after losing out to St Colums last Saturday in Kealkil. St Colums certainly deserved victory but we had 7 or 8 point scoring chances that went narrowly wide and were very unlucky to miss a close-range goal chance. On the balance of play, we probably should have finished a lot closer. Still, it was another step on the learning curve for a young squad of players who now face Ilen Rovers next Sunday in the last round of this league competition. We have also been drawn against Mayfield in the quarter final of the East Cork Championship which will be played within the next 3 weeks so preparations will start in earnest for that tie.

Match Panel : Cynthia Buckley, Avril Finnegan, Sarah Gleeson, Megan Geaney, Laura O'Keeffe, Erin O'Keeffe, Imelda Dorgan (0-1), Mary Hazelwood, Claire Murphy (0-1), Sheila Walsh, Clodagh Butler, Shannon Sheehan, Sinead O'Driscoll (0-2), Yris Bloemhoff, Michelle Boyce, Patricia O'Sullivan, Elaine Culloty, Margaret Kearney.

Upcoming fixtures :
Sunday, April 22nd away to Ilen Rovers.
East Cork Championship Quarter-Final at home to Mayfield, TBD.

U14 Ladies Football
Tuesday, April 10th, Rathcormac.
Bride Rovers 2-8 Rockban 2-1

Our U14 girls finally got some reward for their efforts when they outscored visitors Rockban at our main pitch on Tuesday, April 10th. Rovers took an early lead with some fine scores and never looked back. The panel is gelling very well and all four subs made an impact when introduced. While we enjoyed a healthy lead for most of the match Rockban did have many attacks but our backs and goalkeeper Madison were well up to the task. I don't like to single out individuals but I'd like to make an exception this week. Sarah O Flynn has made a habit of excelling in our games all this year and her performance at corner back was top class again.

Match panel : Madison Parle, Maria O'Sullivan, Niamh Murphy, Sarah O'Flynn, Emma Hazelwood, Grainne Noonan, Aoife Howard, Aoife Deasy, Vivienne Cowman, Jessica Howard, Emma Roche (0-1), Nicola Murphy, Grace Culloty (2-4), Laura Quirke (0-3), Michelle Lane, Aisling Finnegan, Shauna O'Connell, Taylor Parle, Emma Barry.

U12 Camogie
Our U12s participated in the first camogie cluster blitz of the year on Sunday, April 15th.

U16 Ladies Football
Bride Rovers 0-10 Midleton 4-8
Our U16s suffered defeat at the hands of Midleton on Sunday April 15th at Rathcormac. Missing several players who were away for the weekend, and having no subs as a result, we had to play for most of the match with 13 players after injury struck. Nevertheless, our girls battled on and managed to score six points during the period when we were numerically disadvantaged. No-one can accuse them of lacking heart anyway and this was a highly creditable performance even though it ended in defeat.

Match Panel : Madison Parle, Maria O'Sullivan, Sarah O Flynn, Grainne Noonan, Margaret Kearney, Trish O Sullivan, Lauren Friel, Maeve Ahern (0-1), Claire Murphy (0-2), Katie Connor, Karen Sheehan, Emma Roche, Elaine Culloty (0-3), Grace Culloty (0-4)

U10 Ladies Football
Bride Rovers 2-3 Na Piarsaigh 0-0
We travelled to Na Piarsaigh last Saturday the 14th for our first U10 game and came away with a well deserved victory. Alice and Megan shared the goaly role and both made some great saves. We switched some of the girls and all were well able to play in both the forwards and back line. Kate Caoimhe H and Ella were strong in the back line for the first half. While Caoimhe O'S, Sophie and Abby were helping to clear the ball. Chloe was covering a lot of ground at midfield scoring a point during the game. Ciara Shauna and Abby were strong in the forwards Ciara scored 2-2. Also in the forward line Aoife Naoise and Megan were chasing everything.
Well done to all the girls and their parents for travelling.
Panel: Alice Murray, Kate O'Riordan, Caoimhe Hazelwood, Ella Quinlan, Caoimhe O'Sullivan, Sophie Dorgan, Alanna Broderick, Chloe Murphy, Ciara O'Flynn, Shauna Hayes, Abby Keating, Aoife Lomasney, Naoise McCarthy, Megan Buckley
