Junior Football..
On Sunday 24th July, our junior footballers travelled to Bantry to play
their second game in the championship. Emma hit the net with a very early
goal and a second goal and two points gave Rovers a five point lead at half
time to Bantry's three points. The home side settled better in the second
half, scoring three goals and a point but Rovers never gave up and a goal
from Katelyn and another from Emma with some well executed points from play
saw Rovers win at the final whistle  on a scoreline of 4 07 to 3 04. This
was a very enjoyable and competitive game with great passing movement,
accuracy going forward and staunch defending from the backs. Well done to
everyone, particularly the younger players who stepped up on the day and
 played extremely well. Scorers: Emma Barry (3 03); Katelyn Roddis (1 00);

 Allanna Broderick (002); and
Abbie Hoare and Nikki Parle (01 each).
On August 1st, our junior footballers travelled to Rosscarbery for the
championship quarter final. A goal from Ruby Broderick in the opening
minutes gave Rovers a great start. Unfortunately, as she was in
position to score a second goal soon after, Ruby sustained an ankle
injury and had to come off. Goals from Shauna Hayes and Maeve Leamy,
and points from Allanna Broderick and Caoimhe Hazelwood, gave Rovers
the lead at half time, 3 02 to 0 05.
In the second half, the home side chipped away at our lead scoring
eight points and an almost certain goal was scooped away from the
attacker by Jess Riordan just inches from the goal mouth. Chloe Murphy
in goal made some great saves and there was excellent passing, defence
and team play at every position. Rovers had a hard won victory, final
score 5 02 to 0 13. Well done ladies. The semi final pairing will be
 against Aghada, details TBC.[picture attached]

Junior Camogie..
On Thursday July 28th, our junior camogie team played Fanahans Mitchelstown
in the second round of the championship, having defeated neighbours,
Castlelyons, in the first round. This was a one-sided affair really with
Rovers well on top from the outset but fair play to the visitors who never
 gave up. Scorers: Jen Cahill (1 03), Katie Quirke (1 02), Aislinn O'Connor (1
02), Siobhan O'Sullivan (06), Katelyn Roddis, Shauna Hayes and Lily
 Murray (01 each).
 U17 Development
Well done to  Abbie Hoare and Ava Barry who are involved with the u17
Cork Camogie Development Panel. Also to Nikki and Katelyn
who are involved with the Cork Colleges TY panel. Best of
luck girls.
