U15 Football Feile
On Easter Monday, the Bride Rovers U15 girls travelled to Aghada to take part in the East Cork B Football Feile. This team have given some great days out before and this day also didn't disappoint. Our first game was against Youghal who always give us a great battle but again Bride Rovers came out on top 2.3 to 1.0 Next up were our near neighbours Watergrasshill; this was a ding dong battle all the way and we had to use the full depth of our bench to get the win of 4.2 to 3.1
With the two wins in the round robin play-offs, we were pitted against the host Aghada in the semi final. Again, the girls played some fantastic football moving the ball from defence into attack at great speed and posted some great scores. Aghada were very resilient and made our girls work for every ball but in the end we ran out winners 3.6 to 1.1
On to the final we went with the team's confidence very high, it was to be against our old rivals Youghal who had beaten Cobh in the other semi final. This game again proved to be a great battle but this bunch of girls never know when to lie down. It was nip and tuck for the first half with Rovers leading by 1.4 to 1.2 at the half time whistle.  Straight from the off the girls took the game to Youghal and with some solid defending and brilliant passing from the back our forwards were finding their range. At the final whistle we ran out winners on a scoreline of 2.12 to 2.2
This was a great achievement for this bunch of girls and now it's on to the County Feile on the May Bank Holida
y Monday.
