HEC Colleges Final..

Well done to our club participants in the HEC Colleges Finals recently. First up was the O'Connor Cup which saw University of Limerick beat University College Cork by the narrowest of margins. Katie Quirke, Sarah Murphy and Grace Culloty were on the UCC panel and despite being on the losing side, Katie was awarded Player of the Match for the second game in a row. She also received an HEC All-Star Award 2022, well deserved after a terrific season.
Congratulations also to Emma Barry who along with her team-mates in MTU won the Camogie HEC Shield Final. Emma was also on the MTU football team that won the HEC Moynihan Cup, a great achievement in one season.
U21 Football Championship
Bride Rovers played Dohenys in the quarter final of the U21 Football Championship at home on Sunday. This was a good hard-fought game with both sides battling it out for a place in the semis. Dohenys got off to a good start with five points without reply before Nikki Parle opened the scoring for the home side. Rovers were unfortunate not to convert some more points in the first half and the score at half time stood at 01 to 06. Early points in the second half from Nikki and Ciara Morrison gave the team a much needed boost but Dohenys pulled away with a goal and a few points to widen the margin 0 4 to 1 09. Undeterred, Rovers fought back with another point from Nikki before Caoimhe Barry hammered home a goal from a rebounded free. This was followed closely by a point, again from Caoimhe,  bringing the margin to just four points at the final whistle, closing tally 1 05 to 1 09. Well done to the girls on a brilliant effort from each and every player - it just wasn't to be their day.
Panel: Chloe Murphy, Chloe Moloney, Rebecca Walsh, Alice Murray, Carol Kingston, Abbie Hoare, Caoimhe Kielty, Nikki Parle (0-3), Meghan Buckley, Alanna Broderick, Kaitlyn Roddis, Caoimhe Hazelwood, Anna Murray, Ruby Broderick, Ciara O'Flynn, Caoimhe Barry (1-1), Ciara Morrison (0-1), Abbie O'Connell, Ellen Diggan.

U14 League
Our u14 Team 2 girls got their league underway on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The opposition on the day was Aghada who came with a packed team. The girls really put in a great effort and played some lovely football but just couldn't break down Aghada who ran out winners on a scoreline of 5 05 to 1 01.
Also on Saturday our u14 panel received their new tops which were sponsored by Cork Lazer Services. We are very grateful to our mentor Adam who arranged the sponsorship.

U10 Camogie Blitz
Well done to our young stars, the u10 camogie girls, who participated in a blitz against Castlemartyr in lovely, sunny conditions last Saturday. The players (and mentors) put in tremendous effort and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely.

All Ireland Minor Camogie Final
The club would like to congratulate Leah Hallihan and Ciara Morrison on their wonderful success winning an All Ireland title with Cork minor camogie panel 2022 against Galway on Sunday last at Semple Stadium. Well done also to Orla Hallihan who is on the management panel. Leah and Ciara play camogie with our neighbours, Castlelyons Camogie Club, and play football with Bride Rovers Ladies Football Club. Congratulations on a fantastic achievement!
