Senior Ladies Football..

League Division 1B

Bride Rovers 3-18  Aghada 2-11

A tense and dogged encounter took place between Bride Rovers and Aghada Senior Ladies on Sunday evening last in Rathcormac. The match was played with real intensity and featured some wonderful scores from both teams. Aghada raced into an early lead scoring 1-1 without reply in the first couple of minutes of the contest, adding another goal later in the first quarter. A number of well-worked points brought Bride Rovers back into the game and a goal by Grace Culloty in the second quarter meant that they led by the minimum at half time, 1-9 to 2-5. The game continued in the same pattern after the restart with both sides trading scores and there was still only 3 points between the teams at the final water break. The high level of fitness of the Bride Rovers team and goals in the third and final quarters from Jen Barry helped to ensure that Bride Rovers ran out worthy winners by 3-18 to 2-11.

On 31st July, Bride Rovers U6 girls had their first match against Castlelyons in the large astro. We had 19 enthusiastic girls put on the Bride Rovers jersey for the first time. They played 3 matches and had great fun. They are training hard for a match against St Catherines on the 21st August.
