U12 Camogie..
It's often said that good things come to those who wait, this indeed was the case for our U12 camogie squad who finally got their season under way with not one but two matches in a week
First up was a visit to Kilworth last tuesday evening.
Just as the referee threw the ball in the rain began to fall and our more experienced hosts were quickly onto the front foot, with 2/3 of the Rovers girls starting their first camogie match 'under rules' a slow start was to be expected as they all settled in, When the referee called the first water break manager Joyce was quickly into action, encouraging the girls before sending them back to battle, as the first quarter ebbed the second flowed with the girls gaining confidence and then gaining a foothold in the match. At half time the weather was sombre but the mood upbeat, and from the throw in to the second half the girls really got into their stride, with both fearless attacking and defending on display, and, cheered up by their parents the girls were gaining in confidence with every minute played until the referee blew the whistle and called time on the match, a superb display from all the girls.

The girls second match was a trip to Watergrasshill last sunday morning
With the experience gained from the previous match the girls settled into the match early, and after some early defending raised the first flag of the day with some fine team play and composure. As ever with the Rovers girls, hard work was to the fore with everyone and soon enough this allowed the girls to start to show off the array of skills they had been working on in training, hooking, blocking, soloing, ground strokes, long striking, all those in attendance were treated to another great camogie match.
Well done & thank you to all the parents for their encouragement, to the girls, Abbey, Brid, Caoimhe,Ella, Ellie,Gabrielle, Jasmine, Kate, Kayleigh, Kendra, Monica, Ruby, Sadhbh, Sophie, Holly, Sarah and Chloe, bainisteoir Joyce and maor  foirne Joe and Nevan
