Senior B Ladies Football Championship..
Our senior ladies footballers put the disappointment of their loss to Kinsale behind them in Rathcormac last Saturday evening against Fermoy. They started with great intent and kept the tackling intensity high throughout the game. That was one area identified by the management as needing work after the Kinsale match and the girls didn`t disappoint. As always, Fermoy were up for the game and put it up to our girls from the start, but we were well able for all that they could throw at us. Strangely, Fermoy elected to play against the wind in the first half, which suited us, and we got in to our stride quickly with some clinical scores early on. We conceded a soft goal again in this game, similar to the Kinsale match, and we will have to correct that for our semi final next Friday night against St Vals. We hope to record that match and make it available for our supporters to view.
Overall, there was a big improvement in our performance levels, and we will need a further push if we are to overcome St Vals on Friday night. Best of luck girls and here`s looking forward to another County Final if all goes well on the night!!
Junior B Ladies Football Championship:
We played Mallow last Sunday in Junior C championship. Unfortunately, we came up against a very good experienced side which proved too strong for us on the day. Our young team can take a lot of positives from the game however, as their attitude, commitment and work rate were great as always. Our kickouts, ball carrying and passing interplay were also very good. And we created some very good scores too during the game. Team: Ellen Diggin, Chloe Moloney, Emily Larkin, Alice Murray, Niamh O'Regan, Nollaig McCarthy, Alanna Broderick, Ciara Morrison, Emma Barry, Ava Hallahan, Siobhan O'Sullivan, Mollie O'Connell,Caoimhe Barry, Sarah Barry, Ciara O'Flynn.Subs: Aislinn O'Connor, Caoimhe Gubbins and Abbie Keating
