Great win for U21s and great AGM..
It was a hectic weekend on and off the field - on Tuesday night there was no Lotto Jackpot winner, on Sunday evening in horrific conditions our Under 21 Hurling team qualified for the County semi final and on Monday night we had our Annual General meeting.
County Premier 2 U21 Hurling Quarter Final.
Words fail to describe the weather conditions last Sunday night in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, wind, rain, swirling mist and fog and freezing cold -and that was in the Stand ! On a most brutal night for hurling we faced Aghabullogue in the County Quarter Final in the 4G Pitch at Cork GAA HQ. In fairness the playing surface was fine but for the players it was a woeful night. We defeated Cloughduv four weeks ago in our first game while Aghabullogue beat their Muskerry neighbours Inniscarra just two weeks ago. The wind and rain were blowing up towards the city from the Atlantic Pond and Aghabullogue had the elements behind them for the first half. They started brightly and after the first quarter led by 3 points to 1, our score came from Griffin after a great run. At times Aghabullogue looked as if they were going to over run us but our defence held out on a few occasions when green flags seemed inevitable. Paddy O Flynn had our second point from a free. Aghabullogue used the wind well and led by 0 6 to 0 3 coming up to the break. A point from a free by Conor Barry made it double scores 0 6 to 0 3 at half time. The wind never won a game but at least it gave us some hope for the second half. Both teams changed into dry jersies for the second thirty minutes but these too were drenched in a matter of minutes. However it was the Mid Cork side who notched the first score of the half to go 4 up. Conor then hit two points one from play and one from a long range free. In the 13th minute it was three pointer again when Aghabullogue hit a free over the bar. Ben Hogan made a great save, as vital save as it turned out. Then came the turning point of the game. A clearence out of defence came to Cian Hogan who sent in a long rangy ball towards the square. Seanie Knox got a lovely flick and sent the sliotar to the net. Level now 1 5 to 0 8. Conor sent over free for the lead after Shane O Connor was fouled and repeated the trick in the 26th minute, up 1 7 to 0 8, a two point lead. With two minutes of normal time to go Aghabullogue brought it back to a single point 1 7 to 0 9. Conleith Ryan scored a super point to put us two ahead again with time up. We were expecting four or five minutes of injury time - we got eight! We were hurling well now and from three attacks our forwards were fouled and unerringly Conor sent over three points to give us a five point winning margin 1 11 to 0 9. It was a fine win after a slow start and sees us into the semi final of this championship.

Mallow and Ballinhassig meet in the quarter final on this coming Saturday night in Pairc Ui Chaoimh at .715 . We are billed to play the winners of that game in the semi final on Saturday December the 7th with S6t Finbarrs already in the County Final.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
The AGM of Bride Rovers Hurling and Football Club took place in the Old School Rathcormac on last Monday nigh with the biggest attendance I eight years. This was the 91st year since the Club was formed in 1928 and the 55th AGM since the Club was reformed in 1964. It was great to see such a fine attendance and such good lively debate. Outgoing Chairman Richie O Regan welcomed everyone and asked Runai Maurice Dooley to read the Minutes of last year's Annual Meeting which was duly done, proposed to be signed, seconded and signed.
Maurice then presented his Annual Report which was a fantastic document, very detailed and comprehensive and outlined the year's activities both on the Fields of Play as well as Club Development issues. Our main playing successes were with football teams winning under 21 and Junior B divisional Titles and the 2018 JFL. We are still in the 2019 Under 21 P2HC , the East Cork JCHC Final and the East Cork Div 2 JHL Final. His Report ended as follows
It is my privilege to have presented to you my final Annual Report and I wish to take this opportunity to thank a number of people who have helped me during my time as Secretary of Bride Rovers. Tonight, I want to pay a special tribute to our Chairman Richie O’ Regan and Treasurer Liam Barry. Both have been a pleasure to work with over the past 12 months. They have given me great support in my role as secretary. I wish them every success going forward. I wish to thank all the team managers, mentors, players, officers and board delegates who volunteer their time for Bride Rovers at all codes and all levels. Their commitment is not only key to our current success of our great club but key to the future. Their efforts do not go un-noticed. I wish to thank Daniel Lane and Ger for their help during the year and wish to acknowledge the unrecognised work the Lane family put in for Bride Rovers behind the scenes. A special mention to our PRO John Arnold. John’s help and telephone book have been a huge help to me and the club throughout the year. Tonight, I also want to remember members and friends of Bride Rovers who have gone before us. May they rest in peace.
It was a huge honour to have represented this club as Secretary for the past year. In the short term my priorities lie elsewhere with work commitments across Europe and beyond for 2020. I look forward to offering a helping hand to the club in whatever way I can in the coming years. I wish the incoming officers all the best for the coming year and wish all members, players, Officers and friends a peaceful Christmas and a happy new year. Go Raibh Míle Mhaith Agat. Next up was the Treasurer Liam Barry with the Financial Statement. Liam gave a detailed and forensic account of the Income and Expenditure for 2018. He stressed the huge importance of the Club 100 Scheme and the weekly Lotto. Increasing our membership was also vital. The Club is in a good position though we have huge Development Plans still to be implemented. Outgoing Chairman Richie O Regan gave his Chairman's address . He has completed his three year term. He spoke of the pride and joy our Club gives, of the massive growth in playing numbers and the major developments we have undertaken in recent years. Richie thanked all the players, members, Officers a, supporters and sponsors for their passion and commitment to the Bride Rovers Club and wished everyone all the very best in the Future. New Chairman Gerard Lane then assumed office. He said it was a great honour for him as 16th Chairman of Bride Rovers since the Club's re-formation in 1964. He said he would work hard to make our great Club even better as we head towards 2028.
We will have an Officers meeting on Monday December the 9th at 7.30 in the Old School. The East Cork Board convention is on in Killeagh on Wednesday December the 4th.The Bride Rovers Juvenile Club AGM is on in the Rathcormac In on Thursday December the 5th at 8pm. The Cork GAA Convention is on Sunday December the 8th. The first Bride Rovers Executive Meeting for 2020 will be on Monday January the 13th. Gerard then took votes of sympathy and the AGM then concluded.
JUNIOR C H FINAL.
Our long awaited East Cork Junior C Hurling championship Final v Cobh will take place on this coming Saturday November 30th, at 3pm in Rathcormac.
CHRISTMAS LOTTO.
The special Christmas Lotto Draw is on in Barry's bar on Tuesday Dec 10th with many special prizes on offer. On that same night the 2019 Club 100 Bonus Draw will also take place. It will be a great night so all are welcome.

Well done Fr O Neills on winning the Munster Intermediate Hurling Final v Ballysaggart in Dungarvan last Sunday and best of luck v Mayo's Toureen in January. Well done also to St Colmans who have qualified for the quarter final of the Harty Cup.
