Bride Rovers Girls U16 Football..

On Sunday we played Mayfield in the East cork final in Rathcormac. Conditions were ideal for football. We started slowly and it was score for score for the most of the first half. Our backs were holding the Mayfield forwards and playing well. With five minutes left in the first half Mayfield struck for a brilliant goal and the half time score was Bride Rovers 0-5 ,Mayfield 1:5.

Right from the start of the second half Mayfield hit us for 1:3 which put us chasing the game for the rest of the half. In fairness the girls tried their best and managed to string some great scores together when Shauna scored a goal which put us only three behind with five minutes left. However Mayfield parked the bus and we found it very difficult to get through, eventually loosing 2:10 to 1:11. Finally girls , it was not to be our day but can I say on behalf of Aidan, Terry and Corina it was a pleasure to train and mentor you throughout the year. Thank you to the parents for the transportation and help when needed. Bride Rovers Ladies First Friday collection of old clothes, bags and shoes on Friday the 6th of December, 2019 7.30 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. at Rathcormac Community Centre (garage to rear).  No duvets or pillows please.
