Footballers in County semi Final..
On Saturday afternoon we are down to play the County semi Final of the Junior B Grade Football championship. Our opponents will be Goleen from the Carbery Division. They were to play Urhan in the quarter final lat weekend but the Beara Club gave a walk-over. Goleen reached the County Final of the 'First Teams Only' B Grade Football championship a few weeks back where they were defeated by Grange. Coming from a strong traditional football area the West Cork side will be tough opponents no doubt. We've had a long campaign since our first game. That was back in May at Lisgoold when we defeated Fr O Neills. We lost narrowly to Ballinacurra in Glenville before defeating Gleville in the semi final. We had a great win then over Ballinacurra in the Final in Dungourney. The lads put in a mighty finish top come from four points down to win by three. Two weeks ago we took on Inniscarra in Carrignavar in the County Quarter Final. We dominated this game in the first quarter but the Mid Cork side took over for a period, kicking some great long-range points. We steadied and after half time built up a nice lead for a great win. On Saturday we travel to Kilmurry for the first time ever for a competitive game. A place in the County Final awaits the winners of this game. Go for it lads.

EAST CORK DIV 2 JHL.
Junior B’s into the league final and promoted to the top division.
Our junior B hurler’s completed their JHL Div 2 league campaign with a 3:21 to 2:13 victory over Midleton at home on Sunday morning last . After a poor start which saw us 2:4 to 0:3 down after 12 minutes we woke up and played very well against a strong wind to be just a single point down at half time on a score of 1:9 to 2:7. Our goal came from the evergreen Paddy Croke. Further second half goals from Paddy and Shane Flynn as well as flurry of 8 points in the last eight minutes left us winners on a score-line of 3:21 to 2:13. We are now promoted to the top division of junior league hurling for 2020 and also into the league final with Midleton – date to be confirmed.
Team: Jerome O’ Driscoll, Jack Kearney, Damien Healy, Jack Connor, Daniel Lane, Jordan Mannix, James Murphy, Stephen Pratt, Mike Liddane, Shane Flynn, Brian Collins, Conor Barry, Paddy Croke, Cian Hogan, Colm Power, David Burke, Damien Buckley, John O’Sullivan.
Midleton finished in top place in the League Table with 13 points from 8 games. Coming up to last weekend Carrigtwohill were in second spot on 11 points and we were third on 10 points. Sunday's win put us on 12 and thus we will meet Midleton in the Division 2 League Final.

REBEL OG UNDER !5 HURLING.
Our under 15 hurlers face St Finbarrs in the County semi final on Saturday. This year the Premier 1 Under 15 hurling was played on a league basis and the top 4 teams then playing off in a championship format. We had a great league campaign, losing just one game to Na Piarsaigh. Over the last three years we've had mighty tussles with the Barrs and the draw for the semi final sees us pitted together once more. The game is fixed for Ballinlough on Saturday at 1.30pm. Go for it boys.
ANNIVERSARY.
On Friday night the First Anniversary Mass for the late Jim 'Jimbob' O Donovan will take place in Rathcormac Church at 7.30pm. It's hard to imagine that 12 months have passed since Jim died. After the Mass refreshments will be served in the Rathcormac Inn.
GIRLS WIN COUNTY.
That spirit and passion that Jimbob displayed over the years for the Camogie and ladies Football teams was in evidence in a huge way in Bishopstown last Saturday night. On a horrendous night of gales and lashing rain our girls took on Kinsale in the Senior B Ladies Football County Final. We certainly thought no game could, would or should be played in the woeful conditions that prevailed but on it went. Having played with the elements a half time lead of four points didn't seem enough at all. The second half was just amazing. Kinsale fought back into the game with some great points but goals win games and our girls added three more for a superb win. True grit and determination were shown in abundance, well done to all concerned. All the talk was they'd be out in Munster this weekend but 'twill be October 17th before they face Rathmore from Kerry.
Best wishes to our u 14 girls team who face Glanmire in the East Cork Final in Rathcormac on Sat at half 4.
WELL DONE KILWORTH.
Well done Kilworth on a great win over Inniscarra in the PIHC semi final last weekend. In the final now v Fr O Neills the Kilworth lads will give that Final a mighty effort and have a great chance of winning it.
