U14 GIRLS FOOTBALL Bride Rovers 6- 8 Naomh Abán 6-4
On a misty evening last Monday night we travelled to Ballyvourney where we played a very strong Naomh Abhan outfit in the U14 Football County Semi- Final. From the throw in Naomh Abán were first to attack and immediately put us under a lot of pressure , scoring 2 goals in quick success and before we knew it we found ourselves 7 points behind. We began to settle into the game and started playing a very attractive brand of football, which we convert into scores. As the half time whistle blew Bride Rovers lead by 5 -7 to 2- 3. Even with a 13 point lead we knew we weren’t home and dry playing against a strong talented team like Naomh Abán, and true to form they started the second half like they did the first and put our backs under pressure from the word go, they went on to score 3 goals and a point without an answer bringing it back to a 3 point game. With our girls never give up attitude we tagged on a goal and a point to run out winners by 4 points in the end. A fantastic and entertaining game by two talented teams. Well done to the whole panel who put in a fantastic effort and are justly rewarded with a place in the County Final against Carrigaline next Sunday 1st. of September, 2019.

U12 Girls Football League champions u12
Bride Rovers u12 girls went in to this league final on back of an unbeaten league campaign but yet allways knowing that St Nicks were going to be a tough opposition and so it proved. The game started at a blistering pace with Nicks opening the scoring with a well worked goal. This was the early warning that Rovers needed as from here they settled in to the game and scored 2.2 with out answer. The 1st half ended with Rovers leading 3.4 to 2.2 The 2nd half was same with the ball moving from end to end with both backs doing well. Rovers tacked on some beautiful scores to move out to a 9 point lead and sustained fierce pressure in the final 5 mins to hold on for a momentous win. Well done to all the girls and thank you to all the parents and supporters that came out to shout on the girls. We would also like to thank Glanmire ladies club for having the field in top condition for the game Next up is the start of our county campaign against St Mary's on Sat 7th in Rathcormac. Also a massive well done to the Bride Rovers u14 girls who have qualified for their respective county final.
