Senior Ladies finish League with another win..

Our senior ladies footballers finished off a fine league campaign with a good win against Aghada last Sunday at home in Rathcormac. It was a blustery day and we played against the wind in the first half. From the throw in it was obvious to all present that we were stronger than Aghada but we found it difficult to put that advantage onto the scoreboard. We settled before half time and went in at the short whistle leading by 2 points on a score line of 1-07 to 1-05.

We started the second half brightly but some very poor passing and decision making kept Aghada in the game until the final 15 minutes. Finally we found our rhythm and ran out convincing winners on a score line of 3-14 to 1-06. This was a very good league campaign for our senior ladies football team. If we had won our drawn game against Eire Og we could now be in the league final. We hope that they drive on now and carry their league form into the championship. Good look to all of the girls doing exams in the coming weeks. The scorers on the day were:

Katie Quirke 1-03, Grace Kearney 1-02, Niamh Barry 1-02, Grace Culloty 0-05, Leah Hallihan 0-01, Jennifer Barry 0-01.
