Senior Hurling Championship..
It's only the month of April but this weekend we are playing the first round of the 2019 Cork Senior Hurling Championship. We face Douglas in Riverstown at 5.45 on Saturday evening. This will be a huge challenge for us as Douglas are regarded as one of the favourites for the County. We will have a much-changed team this year due to injury, foreign travel, transfers and retirement. Last year we lost to Erins Own before defeating Na Piarsaigh and then losing to Newtownshandrum. We met Douglas just three years ago in Pairc Ui Rinn- a game we should have won, and with so many inter-county players in their squad the city side will be formidable opposition. Championship is never easy and we know that we will have to hurl very well to have any chance of winning. Go for it lads.
Under 12 Hurling.
Our Under 12's travelled to Mallow to take on the home side in a Rebel Og League game. A close game ended with victory for our lads on a 3 5 to 3 3 scoreline. Well done boys.

On today Thursday April 18th our under 12 hurlers and mentors travel to Croke Park in Dublin as part of the 2019 Munster GAA Hurling Activity Day series. They leave the parish at 7.15am heading for the Capital. It's a packed day with 3 mini games and a visit to the GAA Museum on the agenda. MINOR HURLING.
Bride Rovers 5-18 Cobh 2-9
We welcomed Cobh to Páirc Na Bhride last Thursday night for our first P2 league game. We played some superb hurling through out the game with goals from Shaun (2) Edmond, Adam & Nicky and points from all our forwards & midfielders along with Matt & Patrick from our halfback line. All players putting in a good shift and displaying great skill.. We had 19 players on the night with all getting good game time. John Buckley joins the injury list. Fingers crossed that all will be fit for Championship Hurling on the 24th.

U15 Premier 1 hurling league St Finbarrs 4-12 Bride Rovers 4-17
We played our first league match last Wednesday evening vs St Finbarrs in Togher. Though our lads had played a lot of hurling already it was the first time they have played together as a group and it showed in the first 20 minutes of this game with the Barrs pulling us all over the place. We went in at half-time only 4 points down with the home team doing all the hurling. The second half didn't start much better with the Barrs scoring a goal to put them 7 points ahead. Then it all changed with our back line of Cormac, Conor and Louis getting to grips with their forwards and Frank getting good distance from his puck outs we started moving the ball faster up the field. Our half back line of Denis Cillian Tobin and Nicky took over and our forwards did real damage. With Ronan and David working really hard in midfield Adam Walsh, Cillian Barry and Adam Hayes got some great scores. The full forward line was Eldon. Josh and Ran held the ball up really well. Adam Hynes, Ben Knox and Ronan O Riordan all got a run and it was a great win for our lads by a margin of five points Team and scorers.
