Under 21's In Final Friday Night...

After two great games against Carrigtwohill and St. Catherines our under 21 football team are in the East Cork Final on Friday night. Our opponents will be championship favourites and title-holders Cobh.

Semi Final V St. Catherines.

Bride Rovers Under 21 Footballers travelled to Ballynoe on Friday night last to play St. Catherines in the hopes of reaching the East Cork Final.

Having come through a tough opening round against Carrigtwohill the previous week, the Rovers were under no illusion from the outset that this was going to be another battle to the finish. The first half was a very even affair with the Rovers leading on a score line of 1-07 to 6 points at the break. The opening goal came from the boot of DJ Cahill after 10minutes. After this goal we hit a purple patch and went 8 points ahead. Catherines kicked some great points to halve the deficit at the break. The second half was an intense contest with scores being hard earned, however two superb goals from Cian Hogan and Rory O'Sullivan gave the Rovers a cushion for the final ten minutes which saw the Bride lads progress to the East Cork final on a scoreline of 3-11 to 0-12 points.

The team and scorers on Friday night were - Ben Hogan, Jordan Mannix, Patrick O'Flynn, Jack Connor (0-01), Matthew Quinn, Shane O'Connor, Tom Murray, Griffin O'Keeney Sullivan (0-01), Cian Hogan (1-03), Brian Roche, DJ Cahill (1-00),  Conor Barry (0-06), Eoin Roche, Shane O'Flynn (0-01), Conleith Ryan, Rory O'Sullivan (1-00), John O'Sullivan, Seamus Ahern and Oisin Roche.

The East Cork Final has been fixed for 7pm on Friday night but at the time of writing no venue had been confirmed. It will be a huge challenge against a very strong Cobh side, go for it lads.
