Junior Cs beaten in Semi Final..

East Cork Junior C Hurling Championship semi final. Bride Rovers 0-10 Midleton 1-08. Our attempt to qualify for our fifth Junior C Final in a row ended in Clonmult Park on Sunday last. This was a very good game of hurling played in a very sporting manner by two very committed teams at the Midleton venue . After a very lively first half the Rovers had a lead of three points on a scoreline of 0-07 to 0-04. In fairness we were unlucky not to have scored a goal during the first half when we were in command of the contest.  The second half started with the Rovers scoring two quick points to open up a five-point lead. Midleton were due a purple patch and against the run of play they scored a breakaway goal and then proceeded to score two points to level the game . In true Bride Rovers spirit we scored a point to go ahead but an improving home team scored the next two points to go a point in front with time running out.  Dave Burke had a great effort waved wide when it looked to have gone over the bar. It was a disappointing end to a game we seemed to be in control of for long periods . Midleton held on to win by one point. Our thanks to all our players for putting in a great effort on the day .Team Ben Hogan ,Mark O Connell, Joe Delaney, Brian Lahive, Jake Tobin, Jim O Connor, Jordan Mannix, James Murphy, Tomas Murray , Colm Howard, Seamus O Farrell ,John O Sullivan, Padraig Noonan, Dave Burke, Cian Howard,(capt), Jack Kearney for t Murray, Damien Healy, for C.
