U16 LADIES FOOTBALL

We played Fermoy on Tuesday the 23rd of October under lights in Fermoy. The girls were really up for this game against our near neighbours and rivals. We started very well winning the ball from the throw in and scoring 1-2 to 0-2 within 10 minutes. We then hit a purple patch and scored 2 fantastic goals were the ball was worked from the full back line right to the forward line and were finished to the back of the net by Ella and Leah. Each goals comprising of a minimum of 10 passes. Then Fermoy were camped in our back line however our backs were outstanding minimising them to only a few scores. The work rate was a tremendous.  We went in 3-2 to 1-7 up at half time.

With a strong determination we started the second half again winning the throw in and scoring a great point. The game swung from end to end with some great passages of play and scores from both teams. The girls gave it everything but unfortunately ran out one point losers. The girls gave it everything and we are very proud of your performance. Final score 4-5 to 2-12         Training will be every Wednesday @ 7:30 in the large Astro. Team: Cliona, Alanna, Alice, Caoimhe K,  Nodhlaig, Chloe, Caoimhe O S,  Rebecca, Leah,Shauna ,Ava, Abby, Ciara  Sophie ,Ella. Niamh, Caoimhe G, Amy, Caoimhe B.

U8 & U10 GIRLS FOOTBALL

On Thursday last the curtain came down on the u10 girls football season with a great gathering of 8s 9s 10s & 11s taking part in our final training session.

This bunch of girls gave us some fantastic enjoyment throughout the year with some great displays of football in the league most notably coming back from the death against Fermoy in the semi final and going on to win in extra time. Although we were pipped by Glanmire in the

A final the experience that this bunch gained this year will stand to them for years to come.

We would like to thank the coaching team for their work throughout the year and the parents that take so much time out bringing their kids to training and games. We also want to wish the girls every success next year in u12 and u10 and we have one last get together on the 1st of December at 5.00 for our end of year party.
