U10 Girls Football...

Game pulled out of the fire...

On a beautiful Monday evening our under 10s went into action against the home team Fermoy in the semi final of the league with the ultimate prize being a place in the A final for the winner.

This game had everything from start to finish and with both teams giving it their all which they can be very proud of. Rovers started well and registered some fine scores before Fermoy got in for 2 goals to leave the scoreline level at half-time at 2.0 to 1.3.

The 2nd half continued with same same great football with the lead changed hands on numerous occasions with Fermoy gaining the upper hand leading by 3 points with 1 minute remaining. But this Rovers team of never say die players dug out the ball in midfield and worked the ball forwards to score a fantastic equaliser to leave it all tied at the final whistle.

40 minutes of play could not separate these 2 teams so on to extra time we went.

Extra time was when Bride Rovers really grabbed this game with both hands and scored some fantastic scores and with our substitutes getting into the game and working as hard as the girls before them we ran out winners in the end by a scoreline of  Bride Rovers 5-7 Fermoy 4-2

Next on the agenda is the A final against Glanmire A to be played in Killeagh at 3.30 on Saturday the 29th
